No, M.2 is only a form factor. Just like a 2.5' drive vs a 3.5" drive. The *INTERFACE* is what matters, there are m.2 drives that come with SATA Interfaces and m.2 drives that use the NVMe interface (technically PCIe, NVMe is a standard/protocol) but it must be an NVMe drive.

Does the samsung data migration tool work with this? sabrent and plugable enclosures do not support samsung cloning software.

Update to my previous response: I haven't been able to use Samsung Magician via USB. I couldn't even clone. But the enclosure works fine for everything with no complaints on speed when running windows 10. It's just Samsung can never make good software. Example: TIZEN, for galaxy smartwatches and Samsung smart tv etc... Either use "windows 7 backup" in the control panel of windows 10 and create a system image to a large enough backup drive or i will use Hasleo WINTOUSB Professional. Both ways are fast. With the image creator you just need a flash drive with a fresh windows installer tool on it
