AS ADVISED BY MY DEALEER, I DID NOT INSTALL UNDER THE HOOD
The product seems to be working. I 'installed' the device in the garage and our car parks 'over' it. The device and other measures seem to be working. My mechanic advised not to install under the hood--the safety warning with the product was used as the guide for this decision.

Danger
This is the second one that went bad. I heard a faint high pitch beep under the hood and when I removed the unit it was very hot with cracked batteries. It could of caught on fire and destroyed my truck. BAD product. When I tried to contact seller they wanted $5 to start a return process.

Does not work.
Put it next to bird food bag and the mice hung out next to it eating and carrying off food. When put in car with batteries it never went off when car was moving. A waste of time time and money!

Does not repell rats. Rats use it as a urinal
Absolutely pointless for rats.

Im not a rat or rodent. But these work so far.
These appear to work well, unfortunately I cant communicate well with my local rodents and ask if these really deter them. So far the past month no rodent homes, condos and apartments in my cars.
