Second Time Around (The Devil's Elixir)

PLEASE READ MY REVIEW OF 'THE DEVIL'S ELIXIR' IN CONJUNCTION WITH THIS REVIEW.The book itself is excellent and I was really pleased I'd bought it for my Kindle. I'm a fan of Raymond Khoury - he's a really good writer of this genre, which is why I've given it 5 stars.I bought The Devil's Elixir at the same time but when I came to read it, I realised it was exactly the same book as Second Time Around.The publishing history of this book is as follows: Published in GB in 2011 by Orion / EBook 1st published in 2012 by Orion books as The Devil's Elixir /This EBook published in 2013 by Orion.BUYERS BEWARE. Orion publishing have pulled a fast one. If you buy both, you'll be buying the SAME BOOK under a different title.Both books are listed on Kindle as individual books but THEY ARE THE SAME.I put the complaint on Amazon's Community page and, quite frankly, the responses were as much use as a chocolate teapot!

Liked the book a lot. Racy, absorbing and extremely interesting plot. Quite scary about the child, but I did wonder whether it would actually be possible.Reason for only 4 stars is because somehow it didn't connect with me totally on a gut level. However, a pleasure to readand I must confess I had to go back and look at it again before I could write this - and if that happens, then the connection isn't as good as it should be.I shall read more Khoury - have read his previous books and enjoyed them.

Buy this ebook as you will enjoy the storyline as well as the story telling. I have now read all of this author's work and it never fails to command my attention. It is written in such a way to excite the reader and maintain their interest from start to finish. GREAT BUY.

Sadly I didn't think to check the previous reviews for this book or I would have instantly realised that I didn't need to buy it as I had already read it under it's original title, 'The Devil's Elixir', and being a fan of Raymond Khoury I didn't think I needed confirmation from the reviews.There should be a law on Amazon that prevents authors from releasing the same book under a different title without it being clearly noted either on the cover or in the Amazon advertising, i.e., Previously released as "title" etc.I read 'The Devil's Elixir' when it was first released for Kindle so I didn't recognise it in it's new guise until I was a few chapters in, but then I checked back and found out that I had been screwed.Nice work Mr Khoury. I won't be reading any more of your books and I certainly won't recommend them anymore. On the contrary, I shall do my utmost to discourage people from reading your material. For an author to treat the fans in this way is reprehensible.

Another good book from Raymond Khoury. Keeps you interested from first to last. One or two twists added into the equation!

VERY disappointed this was simply a rebranding of The Devil's Elixer.I see now that AMAZON has highlighted this. Shame that was not the case when it was announced for early release.Sadly it is too much trouble to return and get a refund.

Entertaining with lots of action
