Useful for connecting smart phone to car stereo without Bluetooth
Like most modern smart phones, mine only has a single USB-C 'charging' connector, and no place to plug in a set of headphones or an AUX cable to an amplifier or the AUX input of a car stereo. Since I listen to audio books when I drive, especially to occupy myself on long drives associated with vacation trips, I rely on being able to sync/connect my smart phone with a rental car's stereo using Bluetooth wireless. On two recent trips where I had to rent a car at an airport, I ended up with a Chevy Equinox, both of which steadfastly refused to 'play nice' with my smart phone over Bluetooth. They only wanted to connect to Apple phones, and my Android phone was apparently not welcome. Luckily, for many years I always bring along an AUX cable which allows plugging a phone's headphone output to the car's AUX input. But only too late I remembered that my new phone does not have a headphone output. I was able to pick up a small 'USB-C to headphone' adapter at a Walgreens drug store I was driving past, and that got me my desired phone-to-AUX connection, but now the phone was depleting its battery charge on the long drive and even though I had along my car-power to USB-C charger cord, I could not plug it into the phone at the same time as the new adapter. So, I ended up leaving the phone plugged into car power via the charging cable, while listening to my audio book via the phone's tinny little speaker, just barely adequate due to road noise and such. I purchased this "USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone and Charger Adapter", which does the same thing as the little adapter from Walgreens, while also adding another USB-C connector for plugging in my phone's charger cord at the same time. I have tested it on my own car at home, and it works fine with my Android phone, and audio quality is just fine, and I verified that this adapter does allow me to charge the phone through it while listening. There is some information about this device allowing volume control, but there was no manual of guide with it and I don't see how to use that feature, if it actually has it. One caveat I noticed when testing this product with my Android phone and my own car; at first, there was no sound from the car's speakers even when playing my audio book. It seemed that the book was playing through the phone's little speaker and NOT outputting an audio signal via the USB-C connector. I had to go into my phone's settings and turn off the Bluetooth, at which point this product was able to start performing its function. The adapter I bought from Walgreens did not have this issue. Note: If you want to use this product in the way I described above, you will also need to have a suitable AUX extension cable, with the 3.5mm stereo phone plug at each end (one end plugs into the car's AUX input jack, and the other end plugs into the 'headphone' output jack of this product. I suggest that the cable be at least 3 feet long. If you just want to plug a pair of headphones into this product, you don't need an AUX extension cable. This product's 'headphone' output is suitable for both actual headphone use and also for the AUX type connection to a car's AUX input, or a computer's sound card 'line in' jack, etc.

Works well
Mine is still working great at over 5 months of use. I use at night when I listen to old radio shows, with my old earbuds) to fall asleep to and I can wake up with a fully charged battery. It gets slightly warm were the charger plugs in when the battery is very low, but it never gets alarmingly hot. I'm using it with Motorola Edge 2024. Yes, plugging in the charger pauses audio, but after pressing play again you can charge and listen at the same time.

Handy to Have
For use with cell phones that no longer have a port for wired earbuds/headphones. The item plugs into the phone via the "C" port and the listening device and charging cable can be used by plugging into the item. This item has performed well.

It didn't last, but seller gave a refund!
This worked great... until it didn't. It served me quite well as bedside charger that let me listen with wired headphones. A couple of days ago, I woke up with a low-battery charge, so I did a little testing. With this device, my phone wouldn't charge. If took the device out of the circuit, charging worked fine. I substituted a different (similar) device, and charging works OK. There is no visible damage to the device, and it hasn't been in an abusive environment. This should have lasted longer. UPDATE: Seller contacted me and issued a refund. Although the product failed, the seller did not. It's refreshing to see someone who stands behind their product. Very nice.

Functional, but with a catch...
Works great, durable, reliable, clear audio, no static like other connectors I've used -- HOWEVER -- the female usb-c connector fits very snugly and will wear out the connector on your charging cables, causing your charging cables not to fit your phone tightly anymore. Ultimately I had to replace my charger cables, and I try not to charge while using audio anymore. I also was never able to realize the same fast charging speeds as connecting my phone directly, but it's close.

Has quirqs but delivers its promise.
I enjoyed the audio quality of this gadget. It does work very well with my Xiaomi Mi Lite 4G (Courbet). The quirqs I refer to are its inoperative status, both as charging and audio interface on another (older) phone I have (Redmi Note 8T - Willow, codename). But in this case there's no need for such a device since this older cell phone has its own audio and charging/USB C dedicated ports. Also, with the phone for which this gadget was purposely bought, maybe it should be pointed out that there may be times when this device won't work as expected. For instance, I am referring to the fact (quirq) that when used both as audio interface (solely) and charging interface (simultaneously with its audio adapter functionality) with the Tidal music streaming app on the global ROM that I am using right now, after plugging in the adapter to the phone, Tidal music greets me with a dialog box whereupon I have to choose whether I should let the app control (I assume, exclusively) the gadget, and if I agree on this dialog box, I lose control over functionalities such as playing and pausing or other buttons of headsets connected thereupon (Note: I haven't tried with other ROMs yet, so this quirq can be attributed to this ROM). Overall, I am very pleased with this gadget/device. Thank you to those who made it and sold it! Cheers

Used it on my Motorola Razr+ 2024. Works wonderfully with my DJ headphone to listen to music, and my headphone with mic to talk on the phone. But the second you plug power to charge, it cuts the headphones off. Only one can work at a time, which defeats the purpose of the product. If you wish to use both ports at the same time, it may not work. Not a recommended buy ... Sorry

Used on iPhone 15 pro max. Crackles and distortion when used in car with charging - original “lower quality” equivalent does not have these problems. The problems didn’t show when used indoors with headphones and charger connected. However, it was purchased for car use, so returned.

I sing live and my sons bought me a new phone, the new phone was not compatible with my headphones. I purchased this product so I could plug in my headphones and also charge my phone at the same time. It's working great! Thumbs up on this one!
