IT WORKS
I NEVER write reviews. I have a 10 month old female Yorkie who has had issues since I got her. After at least 20 vet visits and two specialist visits and x rays and ultrasounds, they thought it to be IBD. So she has been in diapers since jump street. Her energy levels low and picky with her prescription food. NOTHING was working. After her most recent bout of constantly straining to poop, I decided to dig a bit deeper. They had me using a basic probiotic. Not good enough. They suggested doing a fecal transplant.. I researched items on Amazon and came across this. It needs to be refrigerated but IT WORKS! I started her this past Monday and now 6 days later she is a seemingly Healthy puppy. No more straining or runny poop. Energy levels increased like I haven’t seen. An appetite of a large man. All the good stuff. And tomorrow I get to go to the specialist and tell them I found the answer . This stuff is amazing . Look no further.

Hero of a product for senior dog, unexplained diarrhea
An incredible product! My senior shepherd mix has been on this for almost 2 years. She was 13 when she started having unexplained diarrhea. We ran all of the tests and changed her diet in multiple ways and everything came back negative or didn't work. Finally, I decided OK maybe her microbiome needs support with a probiotic. The bacteria in our guts are essential and maybe her age or an undiagnosed issue had changed the way the bacteria in her gut were functioning. We put her on this product over others on the market because of the multi strain composition. Each type of bacteria provides a potential function our dog was most likely missing. It didn't make sense to give her a treatment with only 1 strain and 1 function when we could give her a pill with multiple strains and functions. After a single day on this pill back in 2023 she was a changed dog. Her stools were solid, she excreted a crazy mucus layer that I didn't expect, and she was more relaxed and comfortable than she had been in 6 months. We have kept her on this twice daily for the last 2 years and swear by its ability to promote healthy gut conditions. Definitely keep this product cold in the fridge. It is probably also oxygen sensitive so by the end of the bottle the last 1/3 seems to be less effectivenand we double up pills. But what a hero of a product. I'm sure this has contributed to her great state of health now at 15 years old where she is still so active and loving life.

Her poop was fine, this is just in case
Summary: Reason for use? Seasonal allergy/gut support. Does it work? No way for me to know. Will I keep using it? Probably, just in case it does work. Do I recommend it? It’s worth a try. I bought this as part of an allergy treatment since there’s been a lot of discoveries about how the gut impacts the rest of the body (in humans anyway). My dog had nasty hot spots and eventually was on an Rx medication from the vet. I decided to try some herbal products and this probiotic in an attempt to support her system and get the itching under control. Eventually took her off the Rx and herbal supplements but kept her on this probiotic. (I still have no idea if the supplements/meds helped “cure” her or if enough time passed that the seasonal allergen wasn’t around anymore but the itching was less with the meds) My dog never had digestive issues (no gas problems or diarrhea) and her poop was always fine/consistent, so adding this didn’t change it that much. For <$30 I get 2 months worth of pills. If I place it on top of her food she eats it without fuss. Sometimes I’ll open it and sprinkle the contents on her food, but I don’t have to. She has only spit the pills out a few times. I’d imagine it has a neutral flavor based on the nonexistent smell. For the price I’m happy to keep giving it to my dog on the chance that it helps.

It Works For My Dog!
Note That This Is In Capsule Form!! I adopted a young dog from the animal shelter 6 weeks ago, and the poor thing had constant loose stools/diarrhea despite all my efforts. I used several rounds of cooked rice and chicken blended in the blender with only temporary success. I have purchased 3 types of probiotics to experiment with here on Amazon, and this is the first to be tested. Within 24 hours he was much improved. It has been a week now, and although his stools are not totally solid/dry, they are much better. He has some skin irritations which have not changed with the use of this product, but perhaps that condition will improve with time. The capsule form is messy to give him in peanut butter, and his appetite is inconsistent, ie: he may or may not finish a certain amount of food he is given at any one time. A powdered form of probiotic sprinkled onto his food might lead to inconsistent administration of the "good stuff" unless I mixed it into a small amount of soft food first. I simply press two capsules into a teaspoon of peanut butter and he swallows it all whole. Of course, Pill Pockets would work too. UPDATE #1: Use caution when handling this product--It looks like any other white capsule. I take an almost identical probiotic myself, and this morning I mixed them up and mistakenly took the VertriScience! This afternoon I found myself in the middle of the street licking myself and a car came around the corner and almost hit me! Update #2I purchased 3 probiotics from Amazon for my dogs [3 pooches; 2 with moderate to severe diarrhea]: VetriScience Laboratories Mega Probiotic Doggone Best Products Probiotics NucleOtics Probiotics VertiScience made a definite improvement, but the capsules were difficult as one of my dogs will spit them out or did not eat them if mixed in the food. Pill Pockets are expensive, and peanut butter is messy. The other option is to open them up and sprinkle the contents on the food. But why then have a capsule, which is an extra cost? Next I used the Doggone Best, which is a loose powder. The digestive health continued without change. I only used about 2/3 of the 8 ounce jar before experimenting with NucleOtics. NucleOtics has a lot of yeast, and is only 2.12 ounces. Again, a loose powder with a tiny scoop. The loose stools returned, but not bad as before starting, but bad enough that I went back to The Doggone Best. My conclusion is that Doggone Best is the choice for me, although VetriScience is a good product.. Doggone offers good value for an effective product. The drawback is the scoops in Doggone and NucleOtics are tiny—easily lost in the jar, and a lot of powder ends up on one’s hands. I suggest that you get an idea of how much product is right for your dog—using the scoops provided a few times, then toss them and simply sprinkle the powder on the food. Adding some water or canned food to kibble will help it stick and be consumed by your dog[s]. Overall, mark me a big believer in probiotics for dogs!

Keeps my English Bulldog's skin happy
Give it a try, it might be what you are looking for. I have waited almost a year before I gave a review just to make sure I believed in the product. So here is my backstory: I have a 3yo English bulldog who loves to live outside in Nebraska and has horrible skin issues. He naturally has a nasty yeasty smell. As a 1yo, we started him on depo shots because he chews his feet and gets hot spots. It helped some. By 2, it wasn't doing much, and he was getting face infections, so the vet put him on Apoquel. It was a game changer, his skin barely had a smell to it, and he seemed less itchy. Now, by this time, I was also bathing him twice a week with medicated shampoo, shaving him in the summer (to help air get to his skin better), and washing his face daily with medicated wipes. Things were going ok, but he had that rust colored fur on his face and feet, and had started chewing his feet again. The vet decided to give him depo shots as well, but they didn't seem to help much. We saw an ad for dog probiotics and I looked into ones that were for dogs with itchy skin. I chose this one, and I am extremely happy with it. The rust color is now totally gone from his face and feet, he has not chewed his feet since I put him on it. He did get a few small hot spots one time, but I hadn't given him a bath as soon as I should have. I only wash his face once in between bathing him and he has not gotten any face infections. He is still on the Apoquel, but I am not taking him off that after experiencing what he was like before. I can not attest to how every dog will react, but try it, and give it time, he didn't change overnight. It takes awhile for these probiotics to work. I have used several bottles now, I have noticed he gets a little diarrhea for a couple days about 2 weeks into a new bottle, or its a fluke that has happened 3 times now. I have definitely seen a difference in him and will continue using it. His skin is much happier and so is he.

Get them now!
These are AMAZING! My Golden Retriever puppy was having liquid stools, smelly and with phlegm. He has a very sensitive stomach. Since I started these he is having healthy looking stools- no more phlegm or smelly- normal stools and feels happy. Thank you for an amazing and clean product.

Contains oat flour - NOT Gluten Free and contradicts trying a gluten free diet for your pets
Contains oat flour which we didn't notice until after ordering. Since we're trying to eliminate grain, egg and gluten these will not work for our senior terrier/pomeranian mix who suddenly developed AHDS. Great concept, easy to open pill to get the powder, good price point but not suitable ingredients to clean up her gut. Delivery was on time, but it was a hotter day so I question the stability during the time on a hot truck as the bottle was very warm to touch upon opening.

Super. Totally recommended!
Super! Not exactly cheap, but after getting a super skinny poorly rescue dog with some really unhealthy bowel movements, someone recommended pro-biotics for him. So, seeing as it is a medication and not cheap I did some serious and lengthy reading and research! I found this product seemed to be the only one with evidence that the bacteria reaches the gut, or in fact even contains active bacteria, most products only contain yeast and other chemicals to encourage gut health. Anyway, after extensive reading decided this was the product for my boy. He was struggling to put on weight, and like I said earlier, his bowels were far from healthy and there was the occasional incident of him eating his own poo (I know, revolting, I was horrified, but again, reading and research - it's actually a natural habit that's formed with dogs evolving as scavengers, and they will eat literally anything containing undigested protein and goodness, and doing this is symptomatic of deficiency of something in the diet or a problem where food is not being digested by the gut properly). He's been on two a day (as he's a big boy and that's the recommendation dose for his weight) for about a month now, and he has been putting weight on at a much healthier rate, and his bowel movements are so much healthier, I'm definitely going to continue him on them as the evidence out there suggests they are genuinely helpful for dogs, and they've definitely stabilised my boys bowels!

A good choice
Based on all of my research, this probiotic has the right bacteria variety, and the right number of strains (6 different ones I believe.) Seems to be helpful for our dog who is prone to colon inflammation. The best before date is at the end of a long number on the bottle, with the last 4 digits being the month/year.

Great! Thank you!
I've been giving half a capsule of these to my little 3.5 pound dog for about a year now. He loves them! I just sprinkle it over his food and he thinks it's a treat! With these and a different kind of food, he's been doing wonderful! I absolutely would recommend this brand of probiotics for your furry family members :) They also have great customer service. I phoned to ask about if they tested on animals (you'd be surprised how many companies like this do!!!!) and the representative was very kind and easy to talk to and assured me that they absolutely do not! All around just a great company and product.
