Don't use it much as a hobby mechanic....but sometimes you need one to check exhaust leaks, hose leaks, valve cover leaks, etc.......yu could make one, but having the gauge makes a difference. ...for slow leaks. Makes a lot fo smoke and fast. This tool is very important i diagnostics. ...find the problem fast.
