How do I assemble the dividers?

Stand them on the floor next to the container. Slide the "slits" 3x4 together, lift together and slide gently down into the container.

How does the lid attach? Will it stay on securely? I am moving and want something that will hold my paper.

I believe that the lid rests on top but does not zip; the sides of the lid have about 2" overhang. Truth: I do not have mine anymore bec not knowing that I had purchased this one, my daughter bought a different one for me, and so I had to keep the one she gave me, and I gave this one to my friend. My friend uses it and likes it. If you want something to secure your paper during the move, this will be fine IF it remains upright. If it falls over, I think the top would come off. But it's a decent paper holder, esp for the price.

Could I used this product to store old posters?

Yes. It’s a rather cheaply made / flimsy product though, so if keeping the posters damage-free and well protected is of importance to you, you would either need to make sure that this thing will be situated in a safe and totally stationary position, or use another, more reliable means for storing them
