Google Nest Thermostat - Smart Thermostat for Home - Programmable Wifi Thermostat - Charcoal (Renewed)

I had a gen 2 near I bought for $200 , apparently Google has stopped supporting this products app so I could no longer control it via phone . I bought this one for $75 Not sure of the differences yet, but it’s easy to install, app it uses is Google home not Nest app. I works just fine , you can set home / away temps . I think the main difference is that it’s not learnable, which is fine by me even when I was home . The gen 2 would turn off my heat if it didn’t sense anyone was home . Assume there is a motion sensor in it ? It’s well worth the money a+ so far

I don't write many reviews but I felt compelled to let others know I am as pleased as I could be with this purchase. I was anxious with my order because this product was renewed or refurbished which meant I paid less. The thermostat arrived in like new condition and was a breeze to install. I linked the Nest to my Google Home and it works perfectly even though it is refurbished and not the newest model. Thank you!

I gave it four stars because I am still learning about this it works fine it tells me the humidity in the home and it has different settings and what I like is you can change it from your cell phone if you need to make it cooler make it warmer turn it off. But I don't know if it saved me any money yet. So we'll see

Step WAY backwards from Gen 2. Lost its usability and control. Downright disappointing.

Nest is easy to install and works nicely, including turning itself down when you're not there if you set that up (by detecting if your phones are all in the house). However, 2-wire thermostats can only be replaced if you also get a Nest Power Connector, which you can install yourself if you're somewhat handy, because otherwise the batteries run down. There are youtube videos about not needing a 3rd wire, but they have changed the Nest to not work that way any more. This is for the old Nest, newer ones may not need the power connector, I can't say.

This is an excellent companion for your Google Home System. This works well with the WIFI and the HVAC equipment, Setup was a bit of a problem however with a little bit of persistence I was able to get it working. Having this level of automation and long distance access is well worth the price of the thermostat. Connection the C wire is a performance must these controls. The Nest thermostat operates great with the Google Home App.
