Healthy Gut, Flat Stomach: The Fast and Easy Low-FODMAP Diet Plan [Capalino, Danielle] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Healthy Gut, Flat Stomach: The Fast and Easy Low-FODMAP Diet Plan Review: Best FODMAP book & diet plan by far!! - Best book by far compared to all the others!! Easy to understand and follow. Recently diagnosed with IBS and put on FODMAP diet by my Dr., I bought every book I could find about this very complicated diet. So I have practically read them all. While the others seemed to either be too wordy or confuse me more, This book actually simplifies the diet and gives you a more definitive plan to follow. It Walks you through three steps of elimination, reintroducing foods and pinpointing the foods that trigger your individual symptoms. It is easy to understand and fully explains what fodmaps are and breaks down each one. It provides an actual meal plan and grocery lists. It is condensed and to the point and takes only a short time to read. If you want to delved into the FODMAP diet, really understand it, do it simply, and learn how to personalize it for you, this is the only book you will need. The recipes are great too. Review: Easy read - I liked the writers style. Lots of helpful information but easy to understand. There are recipes but it is much more than a cookbook. Author explains the science behind Fodmap. There are helpful charts as well. Among the vast choices of books on Fodmap I’m glad I selected this one.

Beware: Great photos, but they don't always show actual recipe.
I have just started to make recipes from this book. The photos are lovely, but in some cases they don't show food made according to the recipe instructions. Some examples: The Sauteed Bok Choy recipe calls for 2 cups chopped bok choy. The photo shows it cut in half lengthwise. Same for the Roasted Eggplant with Tahini. The recipe says to cut the eggplant into 1/2-inch thick rounds. The photo shows it cut in half lengthwise and dotted with some unknown tiny red balls not in the recipe. The Nicoise Salad does not call for potatoes, unlike the typical recipe for this salad. However, the photo has some white chunks in the dish that are most probably potatoes, and the capers and chives called for are nowhere to be seen. There are whole green beans in the photo, but the recipe says slice them. So, the photos are pretty, but your finished recipe won't look like the pictures..That's a little annoying. Otherwise, the book is initially helpful to start the FODMAP journey. I am going to rely on other books for more recipes.

Great Info AND Photos w/Recipes... Yay!
Recently diagnosed with 4 different digestive issues and LOW FODMAP Diet is a must. This book (see pics and video) has great info at the front and some nice recipes with pictures in the back half. It gives you a short itinerary for getting started and the recipes are a good jumping off point and could be used for other, say veggies or proteins. I love the layout and how it explains the differing parts of F-O-D-M-AP, because, trust me, not all cookbooks geared towards this diet do. Many places referring to this diet made me feel anxious, defeated, and stuck in an eating pattern that wouldn't get better. This does a great job explaining the different categories and encourages you that you probably won't need to eliminate all forever. Added Bonus? The book seems good quality and has some colorful details and pictures throughout to break up the monotony. Highly Recommend!

Photos of Some Recipes Don't Reflect Actual Recipes
This book is just OK. I was disappointed when I discovered that certain photos of recipes don't actually reflect the ingredients listed in the recipes. For example, the Nicoise Salad: The photo shows a delicious salad containing, among other things, tomatoes and boiled white potatoes; however, the recipe lists neither of these items in the ingredients. Not sure if they were accidentally left out or just a random stock photo was used for the recipe, but I think it's crucial that the photos reflect the actual ingredients of the recipes; otherwise, what's the point in having the photos? Or if ingredients were left out of the recipe, then do a better job editing the book before it goes to print.

The best resource for understanding and implementing a low-FODMAP diet plan!
I am a dietetic intern studying to become a Registered Dietitian. I came across research regarding FODMAPs throughout my studies and always thought that I should try a low-FODMAP diet plan to identify some digestive issues I experience. The plans and books on the topic were interesting, but overwhelming. I have not found a resource as comprehensive yet approachable as "Healthy Gut, Flat Stomach." I read it cover to cover as soon as it arrived and continue to refer to it daily! After reading it, I finally felt prepared to tackle the plan! Danielle explains the science and research clearly. But, even more importantly, she makes the plan seem manageable and doable. All the research in the world means nothing without the tools for implementation! She provided the guidance I needed to feel capable of following the plan on my own. I am three days in and I feel great. The recipes are delicious and satisfying; I have made the cinnamon sweet potatoes, the farmhouse frittata, and the chocolate chip banana breakfast cookies. I highly recommend this book!

Not a cookbook! But incredibly informative and easy to understand
Some reviews seem to be under the impression that this is a cookbook. It is not. It is somewhat akin to a textbook. It is full of terrific information about FODMAPs and low-FODMAP diets. Everything is explained clearly and is easy to understand. It also gives a detailed plan on how to pursue an elimination diet to figure out what specifically is causing distress to your bowels. There are some recipes sure but that is not the primary purpose of this book. If you're wanting to learn about a low-FODMAP diet and how to go about an elimination diet this is a terrific resource. Highly recommend.

Very insightful....don't need to have A+ grade to read it neither! Enjoying learning more about the intestinal workings and the effects of what we eat upon the body. Changed the way i eat. Keep going back to it to learn more. * added on 19/8/25 ....lost weight. Gut is happier. Bloating gone. Get it! It has science behind it, but even i could understand it!😉 will NOT be going back to how i ate previously. Thank you 😊

Wow!! I got the electronic version of this book because I needed something fast. I have such stomach issues that I read it and started it that night. I'm a week in the elimination diet and I track my stomach. It's an amazing resource and there are lots of examples and foods you can eat. When my 21 days are done, I go through high fodmaps to see what triggers me. Very easy to read and use. I enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone!!!
