They bolt into the rocker panel. (2003 Silverado 2500hd ext. cab) Some drilling is necessary but it's super sturdy! Held a 375lb guy

Do these have to be mounted at the door, or can they be mounted at the bed?

These steps are universal. they are not vehicle specific. As long as your mounting surface is flat and square they will fit.

Will this fit a Silverado 3500 thats a 2022? I see you answered for a 2500....but will it fit the pre-drilled holes for the 2022?
