very acceptable chardonnay to drink and savour.
My wife and I found enjoyable and refreshing to go with desert or with light salad or desert.

Viable alternative...
Apparently when visiting local bars and restaurants and ordering the House White some people ask for 'ABC' (Anything But Chardonnay) because of the reputation and the reactions some have to it. Personally I have nothing against Chardonnay but it wouldn't be my first choice but this Pongracz Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay Methode Cap Classique was more appealing than most. It's very citrus and more refreshing and less honied than standard Chardonnay can be and is a very viable and drinkable alternative to Champagne or Prosecco at a competitive price. That said one family member trying it couldn't get along with this at all and felt queasy and gave up mid-glass. I soldiered on and enjoyed it and suffered no ill effects - personally the worst reactions I've ever had were to cheap Prosecco so this was a minor triumph for Chardonnay. It's certainly worth considering as party fizz, not sure I'd sit and savour it for long but it's fresh and lemony and pleasantly sparkling.

If you drink Champagne which is 100% Chardonnay then you will enjoy this Sparkling Wine!
Don’t understand one of the vine reviewers techpuppy s comment regarding not liking chardonnay yet liking Champagne etc etcMade me laugh! Clearly not aware that Champagne is made of chardonnay grapes along with other blends with bubbles added! Nothing more, nothing less! Champagne is just Sparkling Chardonnay blend Wine! There are excellent Sparkling Wines coming from South Africa, often better than Champagne in quality that are made using Chardonnay grapes & using the exact same method used to make Champagne ( Methode Cap Classique (MCC)). However these South African very similar to Champagne wines, can not be labelled Champagne simply because of a French law that bans the name Champagne unless the wine is bottle fermented in the Champagne region of France!Like Champagne,Sparkling Wines will vary in quality, in the end it depends on the Vineyard, the wine maker & your taste buds but don’t be fooled by the price or origin of this Sparkling wine! South African Wine industry has an illustrious past, Napoleon famously chose a particular South African Wine ( albeit a very expensive one) over French Wines for his coronation as Emperor!

A bit of a fizzy delight
Rather nice South African sparkling white wine. Clean fresh taste, with just the right amount of dryness to balance things up. Works well with pasta and fish dishes, or as a chilled afternoon aperitif. My only criticism is that the flavour does not develop as you drink, that each new sip unveils a taste you missed on the last one, not the case here unfortunately.

A very passable substitute for Champagne
This is a South African sparkling wine, 12.5% vol. alcohol. The bottle has the cork stopper, wire cage and foil capping traditional with Champagne and many other sparkling wines. In order not to have a sticky mess on clothes, table cloths and carpets, it is a good idea, before opening, to give any sparkling wine a good, long rest (minimum 12 hours) in a fridge or some other cool place. This wine was pretty lively even after a 30 hour rest. It is not particularly sweet, so does not need refrigeration to suppress sweetness.Neither, though, is it notably dry. It is pleasant in the drinking, with none of the harshness or acidity that sometimes goes with sparkling wines that are not actually Champagne. In all, it’s a very passable substitute for Champagne. To my mind, it is not a wine to serve with a meal, but when there is something to celebrate and the food offered with it – savoury or sweet – is finger food taken just one mouthful at a time.

Opens with a Pop!
An extremely bubbly sparkling wine that is best served very chilled. It is dry but with a nice citrus zest, making it an ideal wine to go with canapés or even cheese. Goes down very well

Really enjoyable!
I was really impressed when this arrived, it came well packaged and protected so there were no issues ordering it online. The bottle is well designed and looks a lot more expensive than it is, if you’d have told me it was a very expensive bottle I would have believed it.Once poured the colour is golden and smells reminiscent of champagne. It even tasted like champagne to me, so much so I checked the bottle incase I had missed that it was! However half way down the glass it started to taste more like sparkling wine than champagne, albeit that could have been psychological! To drink it’s obviously very bubbly and it continuously fizzes. It’s really light, smooth and crisp, but also has a sweet, rich aftertaste.Overall I really enjoyed drinking this and would happily recommend!
