What a c!off hanger
What a book. Now seriously at one point I was not sure I would finish this book due to the slower pace that I am or have bottom used too. I tend to read really fast paced book. Notebook it not a slow paced book by any means. It's actually extremely important for me to realise it's a decent medium paced book. The story line was extremely good. I found myself actually hooked after a period of time once I stopped thinking I prefer a fast paced book uprising I actually I preferred this pace better. You get more of a story..more understanding of each character. I don't know why I did not see this at the first couple of chapters. I then settled down to a brilliant storyline of friendship. Family. Marrying you childhood sweetheart . With all the good and complicated times a!omg with the really bad time. When Sam is arrested and charged with the murder of his wife Lauren . The only person who believe he was not the one responsibly ... Also his father in law Tim who can not get involved as he his a high ranking police officers himself. So because it was his daughter who was murdered he could not be involved in the case in anyway at all. Laurens mum Helen beloved that Sam was guilty of killing his wife and she wasteno time in telling her so called best friend, or at Least being a single mum and the children had been at nursery together. Helen a!ways made Georgia as part of the family for over 20 yrs. So it came as such a shock for Georgia to find out her best Friend was actually nothing at all like she seemed for the last 20 years or so. It left Georgia on nervous to try and prove her son's innocence. Not as as if she thoughts could do much in realty. Apart from standing by her son. Although she knew Sam was keeping things from her. It's so twisty turney. Book you think you have worked out whom was the murderer then suddenly the book completely changed direction. Then you wonder how you could have missed something so obvious. Then blow me it changes direction one again. Each time leading to go believe you know who the killer.is.. Oh my word what a fantastic rollercoaster of a ride you go on with this book I was definitely burning way past the midnight hours as I could not put the book down . I knew I should but kept telling myself just one more chapter and I really would. Who was I kidding. Just myself in to believing I could it down . No of course could not well what a.surprise and shock it is to find out whom the real killer was. At no time did I ever consider this person . Not once ..Then to make a more shocking and mind blowing revelation well just left me biting my bottom lip not sure what was going to be coming next. Sorry people I never ever give spoilers away as it just ruins a demand good read its awsomd. Brilliant extremely excellent book..you honestly can not. Not read this book..you wil! Be so so sorry if you do not read this. Especially when you hear other readers walkabout this boik. You will definitely regretting if you genuinely let this one slip by you..I can not recommend you should read this book enough this as definitely got to be a must must readI thought that this was my first book by this Author. Until I started to read the list of books written by her . I could not believe I had read so many and have them all a 5 Star rating. So all.I can actually say to that is first no I do not often take notice who the author is . Unless it's a brilliant book. Now that seems a contradiction in terms . But I do have to point out my memory of the last couple of years is not as it should be. Most definitely my short term memory. Due to cancer and chemotherapy treatment as demonstrated my short term memory. Hence me not having remembered the other books by this same author. I tell you that for one reason only. When I look at what to read next I find out I do a few things read the synopsis of a bokk. Look at the cover. Not necessarily the with our to start with. Now I do not look at the authors name because if its a unknown author it can put me off a book. This is someone who as defended a unknown author against other people having said they cancelled there kindle unlimited because the authors where unknown. But I know everyone as to start somewhere as I have said. Yet these unknown authors that I have seen make it big is phenomenal. So yes it can put me off a book but only for a short period of time. But unfortunately my memory being what it is this Author was both really unknown it's my memory so Saturdays is something very strongly is definitely pulling towards this Author even by have read the synopsis. This person obviously her books most definitely have to be read

Another great read from Watson
You can never truly know what goes on behind closed doors…Sam Moore and Lauren Jackson have been best friends since their first day at school when they were three and Sam told Lauren to shut up because she was crying so loudly! Twenty three years later and these childhood sweethearts are getting married and the two families are joining as one, as Lauren's mum and dad, Helen and Tim like to call them, the 'Jackmoores'. Now they're about to start married life in their dream cottage situated on the moors of Dartmoor and they couldn't be happier, but just a few short weeks later Sam's mum, Georgie answers the phone to her son, to be told that Lauren is dead and what first appeared to be an accident turns into a murder investigation, Sam is being questioned and Georgie is certain he isn't responsible, she just needs to find evidence to prove it before it tears the two families apart completely. The New Wife is told from Georgie's perspective, it started as a slow burner but soon picked up speed, drawing me in right from the start. It's a tale of families, relationships, secrets and lies and shows that you can't ever really know someone as well as you thought, including family. This becomes quite evident to Georgie when she starts digging around trying to get answers to the mystery surrounding Lauren's death, because the secrets she uncovers will send shockwaves through the families and have a detrimental effect on their lives. This is a thriller with so many twists and turns that I changed my mind quite often as to who the perpetrator was, but nothing prepared me for the final reveal, although reflecting on it now and the behaviour of that person, should have made it obvious really. This is another great read and I look forward to reading more by this author.

Brilliant
I'm a huge fan of Sue Watson's books and was therefore thrilled to receive this as an ARC. I absolutely loved it and stayed up into the early hours to finish it!The story begins with Georgie's son Sam marrying his childhood sweetheart, Lauren. Everything seems rosy and perfect, until Lauren is found dead. How could this happen when they seemed so happy and in love? Was it just a tragic accident or could Sam really be responsible?I love Sue's writing and, although the premise of the story initially appears simple, the building uneasiness and underlying tension completely captivated me. The atmosphere and eeriness of wild Dartmoor and the isolated cottage is wonderfully captured and the characters are realistically and skilfully drawn, especially Georgie whose belief in her son, yet determination to uncover the truth, makes her easy to root for.Part of the way through, I thought I had figured things out, only to be completely wrong footed again further on! This is another reason I loved this book, as I read a lot of psychological thrillers and so it's always refreshing when the ending is a complete surprise. This is Sue Watson at her very best and I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Thanks to the author Sue Watson, publishers Bookouture and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Good ending but very slow start and middle.
This thriller was very slow to start and had not really got going by the middle. The end though was a complete surprise and very unexpected. We got a death early but we’re kept in suspense as to whether it was foul play or accidental. A lot of this book is taken up by family problems which did not really add anything to the story. It only came to life towards the end and the end was dramatic, but only gave it 3 because the story dragged a bit at times. As a thriller I thought it poor but the ending was first rate.

Do you really truly know someone
This was absolutely man amazing story I could not put this book down. Georgie had been friends with Helen and Tim for many many years their children growing up together..they eventually married about to begin a life of their own when tragedy strikes. These are questions to ask yourself...how well do you know your friends? Your own child? Do you only see what you want to see? Things may not be as they appear...this amazing story by She Watson will have you at the end of your seat consumed by every word. This is a first time I have read one of her books and will not be the last! A fan for life...

Good book
A very solid thriller. Very fast read, and so many twists and turns that keep you guessing through the whole book. And, and ending you don't see coming.
