My cat loves this food, even when he's sick!
My cat and I recently moved from the US to India. He ate Purina and WholeHearted when we were in America and neither of the brands were available locally. We ordered a few packs of different brands to see which one he'd eat. This one made his Top 5.BUT the magic of Whiskas truly showed when my cat got incredibly sick and injured within a couple of days of being in India. Sick cats don't like to eat - mine is no exception. We tried to boost his appetite several different ways, and I'm telling you that the *ONLY* food that he'd eat is this one. He goes crazy for this! For humans, the scent might be borderline disgusting and very overpowering, but it appeals to my cat like no other - Not even his previous favorites from WholeHearted or Purina. It makes my cat's poop smell disgusting too - but the water content keeps him hydrated and he uses his litterbox much more regularly and (gasp!) has increased his urine output too. (My cat hates drinking water). It seems overpriced to me, though - I've seen no significant discounts on this product even if you're trying to buy an entire box/a value pack instead of buying the sachets individually. You might as well just take advantage of Amazon's "subscribe and save" at that point by buying small quantities per transaction.

Good.
But it if it's under ₹550-600 or less. If not, then just buy it outside, you'll get it for the same price.

Bad quality
Not sure if it's fake or quality has gone down, this time whenever my cat eats it she vomits like anything. Tried twice. Never buying it again. Pathetic.

Best part: I can add and feed extra water to my cat! (Downgraded 5⭐ to 3)
(Please read updated review below the dotted line)So that's what I do. Take empty packet, fill it 1/4 with water (sometimes warm), washout any remaining content, and mix it with the wet food. Duggi laps it all up and meets more than enough of her daily water intake requirement!About the product, it is good as any other Whiskas product, but unlike the dry food, wet food lacked any discount and often had delivery charges. Hence, I always bought it locally. However, recently, saw the discounted price from the seller ETrade and have ordered it twice already. If the same discount continues, might even subscribe with the dry food I order.I do prefer this Chicken flavor over Tuna and Salmon (even Duggi does!) as her dry food is already fish based. Earlier, I used get her chicken from the market but that was almost a chore -- buying, cleaning, and preparing. Moreover, mine is a vegetarian household and even though one is bothered by it, but I felt a tad guilty storing and pulling out meat from the freezer in everyone's presence, especially on the fasting days :)If you are wondering how Duggi looks, here she is!----------------------------5-star to a 3-star-----------------------read on:For years, this has been my cat's goto wet food. It's only right that I also give honest feedback when overall product starts to deteriorates. Whiskas food is often imported from different countries. It seems they (Mars) have now permanently moved the cat food production to Thailand. It is still not bad and I can't see any change in the ingredients but Duggi can tell something has changed, maybe the process, quality of ingredients, or percentage of additives used...Worst part the price has gone up from around ~₹400 to a whopping ~₹650+ in last one year or so. Similar thing happened with the dry food -- priced increased and quality decreased, which led me switch to higher end brands. Good for my cat and not so bad for my pocket as price difference between Whiskas and the gourmet brands wasn't drastic.Pricing is obviously the prerogative of Whiskas/Mars. I can only actively look for a better and reliable alternative, when product quality and the money I pay for doesnt meet the expectations.---------------------- Nov 2024 update ------------------------I have already transitioned to different dry and wet cat food but have kept this monthly subscription active. The recent changes are welcome and cater to the cat's needs well. The 80 grams pack with 14 packets makes so much more sense than the earlier 85 grams with 12 packets. It not only makes my cat food stock last longer but also helps in curating a more balanced diet.I ofcourse feed, at most, one of these packets to my cat and dry food, that is much denser in nutrients, makes up the rest of her diet. The recommendation of feeding 3 of these packets to a 3-4 kg cat is quite illogical. 300 gram wet food is equal to 10% of her body weight! The other wet food I use has far less fillers and about 50-70 grams a day is sufficient. These changes by Whiskas are a step in the right direction. Now I hope they can make the product more appealing and wholesome so that my cat atleast eats it happily, and I don't have to discard more than half of the packet's leftovers -- strays don't visit everyday.
