A good buy. I recommend it.
I've owned and used the same 3/4" x 50 ft plumber's sewer tape for over 40 years. I bought one early in life to keep from paying a plumber $100.00 to do what I could do on my own every time my drain clogged. I estimate I've saved over $1,000.00 by using the tape over the years. However several months ago I misplaced my original tape. I have no doubt it will turn up eventually, but I needed one NOW. If memory serves well, the price of this tape was less than for the one I bought 40 years ago after driving 55 miles one way to buy it, plus the shipping was free with this one. I can tell by the appearance of the product that it is at least equal in quality and strength to the other tape I got good service from for over 40 years and I expect this one to last a life time. In less than an hour after arrival of the tape I had the clogged pipe cleaned out and the tape put away. Be sure to wear leather palm work gloves for hand protection. This tape is equally as strong as my original tape, but each of the tapes will bend a little if the user tries to gain more than about 4" to 6" with each stroke. However the tape is easy to straighten and the little bend does not adversely affect performance. So, I adjust my stroke so as to gain about 4" to 6" with each plunge of the tape into the pipe. With that amount of gain the tape ate through the hard packed clog in a reasonable amount of time. The tape reasonably priced, easy to use, of good quality, is durable and works as expected. The free shipping was very nice and Amazon sent a good product. I am very happy with this purchase. I confidently recommend this tape as a replacement or as a first time purchase for someone familiar with clearing clogged pipes.

Strong rod, clears tough blockages easily
The Cobra 60500 sewer rod is heavy-duty and gets the job done. The 50-foot length reaches deep clogs, and the flat design makes it easier to push through tight spots. It’s sturdy and doesn’t twist up like cheaper options. A bit heavy to handle at first, but that’s what makes it strong enough for serious blockages. Worth it if you need a reliable tool for drains and sewer lines.

I'll give it 5 stars solely based on price (compare to RIDGID)!
I used to have access to the larger, thicker steel tape with the REAL roller ball tip. I paid a little over $50 for this tape - the only thing comparable that was truly heavy duty I could find was the RIDGID brand, and it does have the real heavy duty roller ball tip on one end, and a different style tip on the other end. This Cobra brand isn't as thick as the RIDGID models, but the RIDGID costs SIX TIMES AS MUCH! I've seen claims of the Cobra's thickness being 1/16" and also 3/64", for a little over $50 plus tax. The RIDGID 50' x 3/4" x 1/16" tape was listed for a few cents less than $300! The RIDGID 50' x 3/4" x 1/8" flat steel tape was listed for almost $445! It's twice as thick, but REALLY? RIDGID's 100' x 3/4" x 1/8" and their 100' x 1" x 1/8" (wider) tapes both listed for almost $685, while Cobra's 100' x 3/4" x 1/16" tape is a little less than $70! (I couldn't find a thickness spec for the 100' Cobra, but I'm guessing it's the same as their 50' tape.) Way to go Cobra! There's no doubt in my mind this will work just fine for my purposes, and I'll never have to buy another one. It's heavy enough, and the price is right! My only slight disappointment was the "roller" tip doesn't roll very well, and I realize that a functional roller can be a helpful feature on long runs of pipe. However, the main way this type of snake works is by brute force - the roller really doesn't matter. The weight of the tape plus the tip allows you to ram into a clog and dislodge it, or break through it. I can see where the RIDGID tapes could be handy - twice as thick means twice the weight, so that's twice the momentum to break up a clog, and for professionals who might use them daily, the tips ARE heavy duty. But good grief - for six to ten times the price? I have mad respect for the RIDGID name. I have used their conduit bending products, and they are excellent - they stood out, even when compared to Klein and Greenlee. However, for this product, I think Cobra makes much more sense.

A snake for all clogs
The Cobra 60500 flat sewer rod, worked as intended. It punched through the blockage with ease, where a rotatory snake just bound up.

If you know you know
If you know what this is for than you know how valuable it can be. I haven't had to use this one yet, but it replaced a cheaper one that was well-used. This is very sturdy and appears to be a solid tool. I want to say that I can't wait to try it, but actually I can wait.

I had a clog in my main sewer line about 40-45 feet in. The sewer rod arrived on time, which was great...because I was up against it and tired of spending $100 a day to rent equipment at my local hardware store. The sewer rod has a convenient handle on it that makes pushing through hard spots easy on the hands. It is very light to carry and coils back onto the reel very easily. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.
