Dante's Peak [DVD] (English audio. English subtitles)

The film is great, but this DVD does not have English subtitles. Unfortunately, I am very deaf, so this was a deal-breaker for me- I had return it and buy the Blu-Ray instead.

Fun, action thriller

Good action film

I've seen it so many times....but my family haven't seen it before. Bought it for the family and they love it!

This is definately one of the better examples of the Disaster movie. the characters are believavle the scenario is not to preposterous and the science is good enough to make the movie half way believable.. we don't have Neutrons mutating or what ever, we have a volcano that just erupts after years of dormancy. A completely enjoyable movie and one that i go back to a lot when i want that - humans in tight situations.

For a disaster movie Dante's Peak is one of the better ones.That said like all disaster movies they do "fudge" the science involved. Exaggerating the actual effects, speeding up the timeline of a volcanic eruption, making up small details to make it more dramatic for cinema or just leave out stuff completely because it wouldn't work on film.Dante's peak is more factually grounded than the Tommy Lee Jones similar disaster movie "Volcano", which came out in roughly the same time as this movie and went way too "silly" with it's premise and approach.I would definitely recommend Dante's Peak to anyone who wants to watch a decent action packed disaster flick.
