High quality from Vallejo!
Been using Vallejo paints for a few years, very high quality acrylics for model making. This matte finish is a high quality finish that leaves a matte finish and protects. I've used it on chromed parts, especially hub caps and wheels, to replicate aluminum parts and it works quite well. Applies easily, can be brushed or sprayed with air brush. i use distilled water to thin. Hardens to a good finish for acrylic surfaces, and easy to clean up with water!

Excellent matte varnish for miniatures
I used the Vallejo matte varnish with an airbrush and the result was perfect. It applies evenly and leaves a truly matte finish with no unwanted shine. Applied it on my miniatures and they turned out exactly as wanted, with no color shifts or detail loss. So far, it hasn't yellowed, which was one of my main Concerns.

Great varnishes
The satin is little more reflective than I’d like but definitely still a satin finish. Looks much more matte when paired with a glossy finish (the wood in the photo is the satin and the red is gloss, for comparisons sake) The gloss is fantastic. Really makes shinies look shiny and wets look wet. (The mimic interior is the gloss)

Not as Glossy as Expected
I use this Vallejo Permanent Acrylic Varnish as a top coat on my 3D printed masks for cosplay projects. It’s easy to work with and gives my pieces a nice finished look while helping protect the paint from scratches or handling. What I Like: It dries fast and applies evenly, which makes it great for layering and getting a smooth finish without too much waiting in between coats. I like that it doesn’t yellow or cloud up over time, and it gives my prints a professional look once it’s dry. What I Don’t Like: It can clog smaller airbrush nozzles, so I’d recommend using at least a 0.5mm setup to keep things flowing smoothly. The finish also isn’t quite as glossy as I was hoping for, even after a few coats. It’s more of a soft sheen than a full gloss, which might not be ideal if you’re going for a mirror-like shine. Would I Recommend It: Yes, especially if you need a dependable, fast-drying varnish for props or model work. Just be aware that it leans more toward a satin look than true gloss, and plan your airbrush setup accordingly.

Airbrush or Paintbrush
If you’re doing this through an airbrush, add a drop or two of airbrush thinner to prevent the varnish caking up your airbrush nozzle. 1:3 Satin:Ultra Matte Varnish is a good mixture to protect your models while giving an ultra matte finish. One of the ways I’ve seen Satin varnish used is on capes. Good place to start if you wanna protect the paint on there. Airbrush is fine, but if you wanna be precise, paintbrush works too if you are unable to use plastic wrap or non-grease putty (blue tack) to protect your model from indirect airbrush spray.
