Great unit at any price; but it’s a truly amazing unit considering the price charged.
I recently purchased and installed an SJoybring JOY-D009 car stereo in my 2007 Hyundai, Sonata. I was originally planning to purchase one of the better known, much more expensive brands, but decided to give the D009 a try in light of its amazingly inexpensive price, which is a small fraction of those other brands. The D009 was relatively easy to install using simple tools (I purchased from other parties on Amazon the proper dash faceplate, bracket and wiring harness adapter for my car), and with it Apple CarPlay works flawlessly via a USB cable (I have an iPhone 12), as does every other feature. (I have not yet installed the backup camera, or the steering wheel control, and don’t know whether I will bother with either.) Among other things, the Bluetooth speakerphone works great (even without the external mic that I purchased in an abundance of caution, but found I do not need), and Apple Music sounds great, even with my car’s old, original speakers. I also was pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of SJoybring’s technical support via Facebook messenger; I contacted technical support because I wanted to make sure that my unit had the most up-to-date software, and I wanted to replace the “SJoybring” splash screen with a “Hyundai” splash screen when the unit starts – tech support sent me the software with detailed instructions, and everything updated perfectly, including the splash screen. In sum, I must say that I am extremely satisfied – it’s a great unit at any price; but it’s a truly amazing unit considering the price charged.

Best budget Apple CarPlay
If you looking for a budget apple CarPlay double din head unit under $200 I really think this one is it. Is this amazing no but for what you pay I think it gets you pretty darn close to the more expensive offerings of Sony pioneer and jvc units that are far more expensive. That said I do believe there are some quality of life improvements that could be made to make it even better that would be simple software changes to make it even better. Currently you have to contact customer support over Facebook to change to a custom wallpaper or start up logo. Don’t get me wrong there customer support is very friendly very responsive and responds very quickly A+ on that end. I think that common car manufacturers logos should be pre programmed to change in the settings ford dodge Chevy GMC Honda Nissan Kia. AlSo adding the ability to change backgrounds over usb as long as it’s the right resolution and file format would make customizable wallpaper more convenient. Also they may have one but I couldn’t find a company website to compare or see different models they may offer having the ability to see specs and different model offerings may increase sales and helps customers decide on what model to purchase.Getting on to the good side the head unit comes with great instructions. Wire diagrams are clear and easy to understand added remote and install brackets if needed and wiring included for steering wheel controls and included backup camera are a well added bonus for the budget price. Customer service through Facebook was amazing and very responsive. Over all very happy with my purchase. On to sound quality it could be a little better but improvement may increase the cost of the overall unit but I would be willing to pay just a little more if the mids and lows were just w little better. Highs sound great but there still a lack of bass on the low end may be due to the overall wattage output. Really that would be my only complaint blue tooth connection is great and sounds crisp with no loss in connection. In conclusion if your looking for a good double din under 200 really I don’t think you can go wrong. If you want something higher end with more features or a little more snappy or better quality of life features your looking in the 300-500 range so I think this unit hits a good sweet spot between features and price.

A SHINY TURD
In the beginning this thing seemed nice. The unit is smaller depth wise than my old head unit that had a cd player so it allowed for more room in the dash for the install. Install went well, being that I've been installing custom stereo in every vehicle I've owned for 25 years helped alot, but even a novice shouldn't have too much trouble. Everything is basic color coded plug and play automotive electronics. Installing the backup camera takes some effort to hide the wiring, which was a little short to be honest. I installed in a 2007 honda civic 2 door and did not have enough length to go where I wanted. The initial use of the device is good. Sound is good. Has all basic settings that you would expect in a basic device. Good wide range EQ and preamp is pretty solid. The sub output is mono so if you have a stereo setup or dual subwoofer you will need an adapter. Backup camera is nice and works well.Android auto is pretty nice(your phone has to be plugged into the radio for it to work) though the phone mirror sucks. Google maps works well and thats the main feature I like. Calling is decent. This is where the good ends. For a couple weeks everything is as i stated above. I'm loving this new radio. Then it starts losing settings. The stored radio stations. The time. The main menu settings that you change to your liking. The EQ settings. Bluetooth connections. ALL GONE! Just like it was a fresh install. I know its not my wiring. Because I can redo all the settings and it'll be fine for a couple days or it'll do it again next time I start the car. It is totally random. So I got the unit replaced. Amazon return policy is pretty solid on most stuff.Well here I am leaving this review a few weeks after installing the replacement unit. AND ITS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING AS THE FIRST ONE! And its completely random. So I have no other explanation than this radio is A SHINY TURD!This would have been a high praise 5 star review if not for this one issue. But if you don't mind having to redo all your connections, resetting your radio stations, setting the time date and menu settings to your liking everytime this thing decides to glitch then go ahead and dive in. Me personally, I'm sorry I ever gave SJOYBRING my business.

Pretty decent head-unit, but the microphone makes phone calls almost impossible
I've been pretty happy with the head-unit, overall. The touchscreen is responsive and fairly precise. Core functions are pretty standard and easily accessible. Big, meaty icons, to make the interface easy while driving. Installation was a breeze with the right kit, and it fits almost perfectly in my 2013 Prius C. At first glance, people think it shipped with the car.I'm using Android Auto with it. Literally plug-and-play. That is, connect the phone with a USB-C to USB-A cable, and Android Auto just pops up and works. No additional software to install, no special toggles on the phone or the head-unit. It's smooth and simple and works perfectly. My only genuine beefs are the audio and the microphone. Music playback sounds a little thin and synthetic, even with Loudness toggled on and bass frequencies boosted (despite the fact that it features a 16-band EQ). Of course, the quality of the speakers in the car has to be considered, and they're Toyota's stock units. But the stock stereo sounded much chunkier than this one. It's fine, mind you. It's totally listenable. Just a little thin. The microphone is just bad. I haven't found a solution to using the Prius' cabin mic with this head-unit, so I'm limited to the mic in the unit. And it's bad. Listeners report my sounding robotic, distant, unintelligible... Sounds like it's got a really aggressive noise gate to fight traffic and other driving noise, but it's so aggressive that it cuts out vocalizations that aren't firm and loud, themselves. I've had friends tell me to hang up and call me with my cell, or just call them when I get home. If you're buying this, I'd recommend researching solutions for connecting your car's mic to this unit.Overall, I'd recommend it—just with the massive caveat that the mic is hopelessly bad.

Surprisingly great value! (6 month update)
I'm not a young guy and I've installed my own (and others) car stereos for 40 years. I've had many of the big names and have generally preferred Kenwood and Alpine head units. Their performance was always something I could count on. But the price was something I'd have to think about each time I had to choose. One of my current vehicles is a 12-year-old Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 work truck with few bells and whistles. At 133K miles, it's had a hard life The radio's display was barely visible even in dim light, so it was time for a change.I again looked at Kenwood, Alpine, Sony, JVC, and others, and to get the features I wanted, I was going to once again dump a lot of cash. So, instead, I found this Sjoybring radio on Amazon. It had everything I wanted: Android Auto, a backup camera, and Bluetooth. The price was suspiciously low, but given the great reviews, I took a chance. >>> And I am SO glad I did! <<<True, a Dodge (now Ram) radio footprint isn't quite standard, as manufacturers do to their customers these days, but it wasn't far off. I ended up needing a Scoche kit to close the side gaps, and a wiring harness to mate to the vehicle's cables. I also needed (and had) a Roto-Zip and Dremmel tool to shave off internal plastic pieces that were in the way. So, I won't say it was the easiest install, but that's not Sjoybring's fault and it was far, far from the most difficult installation I've done. (I was "creating" automotive subwoofers before there were car subwoofers for sale and that, and multiple amps, multi-zone EQs (vans), were sometimes a real challenge). But about the radio - it has everything I wanted. Better yet, it has GREAT customer support! Upon request, they provided a vehicle boot logo, they walked me through several things I didn't find to be very obvious (again, not a young guy), and they were quick and courteous. Excellent staff! They even emailed images to show I had overlooked some things. The sound is good and it has an obscenely capable equalizer. The backup camera has a cable that was just long enough to run from rear bumper, along under the chassis away from pinch points and exhaust, up along the firewall and into the dash with a little length to spare. (This is a quad cab truck, so there was some distance involved). The reverse cam picture is quite good and quick to respond, though I still need to figure out how to get the range lines where I want them. The attached photos show the installation as I was just about finished so it's not the cleanest presentation. Also, the protective film was still on the display for a couple of photos. (oops)For the price paid, this is one of the best car stereo bargains I've ever had or even heard of.I will add, however, that the radio reception could be better, [SEE UPDATE BELOW] which is where a sensitive tuner could help - but then we'd back in Kenwood price territory. (Kenwood also makes ham radios, so their tuners are some of the best you can get for a car - or were when I owned them).I've given the Sjoybring a 5 star review despite the radio sensitivity because the price is very good, the overall performance is great, the customer service is outstanding, it has every feature I want, and because I plan to listen to SXM and Amazon Music most of the time anyway. I didn't get it to listen to commercials.I hope this review helps you. Making a decision on a car stereo can be agonizing without decent customer feedback.6 month update, Dec 2022:1. The radio reception is far better than I first thought. The problem was the antenna in the vehicle.2. Based on the perceived problem with reception, I put in another radio - same issue. It was NOT a radio weakness. But I moved the Sjoybring radio to my patio where it now drives 2 amps delivering 850 watts to two Kicker outdoor speakers and a dual 8 inch sub box. (All made weather proof under a patio cover and in a cabinet). It sounds amazing! The 16 band EQ works great! Performance from the radio, SXM/Amazon Music using an Amazon Echo, USB, and SD card is perfect for this application.NOTE: I couldn’t find info on the SD Card size limits, but I am using a 64 GB card with a huge music library and it works very well.Final thoughts: the Sjoybring Joy- D009 was one of the most cost effective electronics purchases I've ever made. It's a great buy!
