I bought this to replace an old Redi-Chek wireless thermometer system that I've had for about ten years. I love how this one connects to my wifi network instead of to an additional unit through bluetooth. I'm generally on the opposite side of my house from where my grill is, so being able to use the range of my wifi network to monitor temperatures is awesome. Another feature I really appreciate is how the app plots the temperature on a graph, so not only can I see what the current temperature is, I can see how the temperature has been trending for the entire cooking session. I cooked a few racks of ribs on my smoker shortly after getting this device and it worked very well. My only concern is that it has a built-in battery that has to be charged. I would much prefer it just had replaceable batteries like you can buy anywhere.

This is the first "connected" thermometer I've had that has lasted over a year. I have tried SEVERAL and they all either go out of whack with the readings, or simply die. The Govee has been solid for 1.5 years now, all of the probes reading the same under testing. The wireless reach is pretty solid, and it's a VERY nice thing to be able to have a smoke going, and check on the temperatures from the car, the store, a friends place... Battery life is great. For a wired, wireless thermometer, there is nothing I don't like about this. Bought a second one as a backup, just in case. Well done, Govee.

Build quality is top notch. Only complaint is that one of the probes went out within a few months. I had a Bluetooth thermometer before and it kept dropping due to the walls of my house and range issues. My house has wireless WiFi extenders throughout. This bad boy has never had a signal issue. The alarm is much more reliable too. Wish I wouldn’t have kept my Bluetooth unit for 5 years. Lesson learned. I considered the wireless probes but don’t see how they can work any better than the wired and the wired are so much cheaper.

Brand: Govee I've used other Govee stuff and it always seems to work reliably and as expected. This wifi smoker/grill thermometer is no exception. I used to have a GrillEye which was always kludgy and, not surprisingly, they no longer exist. So, it was time for a replacement. This is doing everything that the super expensive bird brand is doing but for a lot less and I didn't even have to install an app since I have other Govee stuff. Displays 4 probes temps simultaneously and sticks to the side of my Traeger hopper box so I can easily keep it out of the desert sun. It set up quickly and is super easy to use. Maybe the best thing of all - two additional new Govee brand probes were around $15 ($7.50 each, and of course this might go up over time) - my old GrillEye was soaking me every time I needed a new probe, around $30 each. I like to leave one mounted to the grill in the smoker so I can see and track the accuracy of the "smoker" temp on my phone as well so I wanted a spare one since that's a pretty rough life for a probe. I really appreciated the replacement probes being priced reasonably.

Update... you CAN set a low temp alert. The thermometer works well but I struggle with the user interface. I consider it to be a good value for the money! I bought to alert me of issues while using a smoker. I haven't used yet but I did set it up. Easy! I did notice there is not a low temp alert. Shouldn't be a problem 95% of the time.

Worked well the first couple of times I used it. Battery level never showed correctly on display, but did on app. Some probes read differently than others. Replaced them only to have a larger temp difference. Display no longer shows temperatures.

I am an appliance technician, and I have used this in multiple situations where I need to test the temperatures of an oven.. I have also used it for baking. Absolutely perfect barbecued roasted chicken

I really like this 4 probe thermometer. I tested the probes for accuracy in 3 ways. First, ice water. All 4 probes registered 3 degrees high. Second, room temp. All 4 probes registered 3 degrees high. Third, i tested them on boiling water. Again all 4 probes registered 3 degrees high. So, i conclude i can rely on them. They are consistent. They are predicatble. I take off 1/2 star because there is no temp correction for the variance from accurate freezing temp etc. Abd... since i can make the correction in my head...i leave my rating as a 5. I give it 5 stars because it makes my kamado joe barbecuing so simple. I can know what is going on inside without opening the lid. I can let it slow cook for many hours and make amazing food. I have used it to cook 4 times so far. The meat is awesome. Temps guide me well. The battery lasts many hours. I have no concern of it running out mid session. I recommend it.
