Great Tools Without The Nutty Prices
To be clear, I have entire sets of snapon and mac tools. These tools were purchased to supplement our off-road/travel sets, which are often "Borrowed" by folks you do not know, when they are not smart enough to haul basic tools 100 miles out into the desert. And to my point; I did not expect much...maybe m-force or p-max from nards, to maybe balt from downLow. Some folks swore by them out in the field, and promised they were a cut above building center junk. Much to my surprise, we ended-up using most of these tools on our recent trip to Moab...blown top-end on one machine, due to a failed intake connection, exploded front diff on another (we just removed it and ran rear-drive for the rest of the trip) and mostly, tools either work or they don't, but these actually feel good and give great range of motion in tight spots. As did the flex gear wrenches. There were times where if I wasn't actually looking down at the tool in my hand, I may have mistaken them for my snap-on sets. I know Snap-On guys/mechanics (which I'm not) don't want to hear that crap but, it's true. I'm a career HVACR tech, and use many of my mechanics sets in my profession, and I AM a home mechanic that has been a motorhead for 58 years and have always spun my own wrenches building my own machines, and I know good tools when I feel and use them. All that said, I'm now impressed enough to fill-in the missing pieces of this set, with more gerarwrench. I currently have the 1/2" full impact set, the full 3/8" impact set W/Swivels, full metric/imperial flex wrench sets, as well as the full flex 1/2 and 3/8 flex ratchet and socket sets, the specialized fastener bit set, and several other pieces. Not going to stop until I have them all. Quality affordable tools man, to be sure of it. We often hear that said and later decide the tools work, but are otherwise crappy. These are NOT those tools. I can see these lasting a lifetime. Definitely what I will leave locked in my motorsports trailer. And if someone steals them?...wont hurt as bad as thousands of dollars in Snap-On! A safe great buy, when comparing quality to the big-boy professional sets. Definitely buy these, and save some serious coin.

Gear wrench, oh my lawd, what can I say about these sockets?
You want premium sockets without paying your house away from the ice cream truck and creepy man stalking your shops like snap on? Gearwench is the best when it comes to a premium brand that's affordable. And these sockets, they so smooth, they so nice, they so.... Thick... And best of all, they haven't shattered on me and can be beaten like your roudy clapbox Chevy! Gearwench ooooyeeeeaaahhh! I love you muah!

Outstanding impact 1/2 metric set... But no 25mm. Bought those separately, to satisfy ocd
Strengths: Construction, finish, feel, heft, laser+stamp engraved Weaknesses: Why no 25mm ? Recommendations: Absolutely recommended if you want a great set of 1/2 impact metric sockets Notes: GearWrench has become my go to for tools with the fall of Craftsman. Kobalt was made in the same factory as one of the big two (Mac or snapon) like a decade ago, but no longer. I started out life with buying one of those 100piece sets from kobalt almost a decade ago, and that served me well. Recently though, I bought a big red 44" tool chest (always wanted one) and needed to fill it with all the sockets I could ever need, in every size, with no gaps. Because I wanted to. Not for any crazy project. After cruising Garage Journal for weeks, I settled on GearWrench and became hooked. I own this set, the 1/2" SAE set (which goes completely sequentially without skipping any), the 3/8" Metric and SAE sets, the 1/4" set, and a full set of their 120xp in both flex head and straight shaft (hehe). Probably going to buy the crazy allen wrench/security fastener/whatever set as well. The quality of GearWrench as a brand is far and above what most big box stores sell. Sure you could spend as much as you would on a new truck buying from Snapon or MAC, but these are great. I have a full set of Snapon tools at work (I'm not a mechanic) and to my amateur hands, I can't feel or tell any noticeable difference in them. Highly recommended

After close and careful inspection, I am impressed with the look and feel of these sockets.
I just received my set of sockets a few minutes ago. After close and careful inspection, I am impressed with the look and feel of these sockets. All of the sockets appear to be new and properly machined. There are no missing or duplicated sockets, but the so-called universal joint is a dud(it does NOT function properly). For me, that is NOT a deal breaker because I never liked the idea of using a universal joint with an impact driver. I never thought that it was a safe thing to do because it is too easy to break a universal joint if it gets in a bind. All of the sockets seem to be properly stamped and imprinted with the correct size markings, and are nice and clean except for the oil film that covers the sockets inside and out. As of now, my first impression is 4-STARS. Once I start using this socket set, I will update this review if anything changes my opinion for the better or for the worse.

Incredible Durability, an 8 year socket
This is, by far, the best impact socket set I've ever purchased. Mostly because it's the only set I've ever purchased, I bought this set in December 2018. Only a few weeks ago, my 17mm cracked while taking off a lug bolt. I have been a full-time technician since buying this set. I use them pretty frequently, but the 17mm is a daily staple since I have worked at BMW and Audi. That socket lasted almost 8 years! Meanwhile, my coworker went through 3 Matco sockets in about 6 months. Every other socket is still in perfect shape. Definitely worth the money!
