Through Grandpa's Eyes: A Touching Story About Learning from a Blind Grandfather for Kids (Ages 4-8) (Harper Trophy Book) [MacLachlan, Patricia, Ray, Deborah Kogan] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Through Grandpa's Eyes: A Touching Story About Learning from a Blind Grandfather for Kids (Ages 4-8) (Harper Trophy Book) Review: Authentic, touching and inspiring. - I have lost most of my vision and I found that this book was a simple way for my granddaughters to understand how I and other visually impaired and blind navigate our environment each day. Well written and easy for children to read and have read to them. I work for a Center for the Blind and this was read to our Support Group. It received great feedback from those in the group who are blind and their family members enjoyed it as well. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants family and friends to better understand that blindness is not the end of one's life. Blindness can be a nuisance sometimes. However, Grandpa is an excellent example of a person who overcomes an adversity everyday. His grandson see's Grandpas ability, not a disability. I would love it if the author wrote a similar book 'Through Nana's Eyes'. Review: Great for all ages! - Great for all ages! I love this book and have read it to classes from children to adults.

Well-written, realistic story
This is a very nicely written story about a boy and his grandfather, who is blind. It portrays a close, loving relationship between the two, and explains in a very simple and positive way how the grandfather perceives the world without his visual sense. The accompanying drawings are simple and artistic. It is so difficult to find realistic, beautiful books for children, but this one is absolutely wonderful. I give it my highest recommendation.
