Not much useful information that is not already available from a quick google search.
The book was not very useful, it listed pau to dig sites, but there were not very many and it listed mostly lots of museums which are easily found with a google search. There was little original information about rockhounding in the different areas. I was hoping for at least a little bit of assistance in rockhounding other than a list of pay to dig places (some states had nothing listed) and museums. I want to be out digging not wondering through museums.

A gift for son and grandson.
My son liked the Northwest Treasure Hunter's Gem and Mineral Guide (6th Edition) because he and his son live in one of the Northwest state.

Museum and business locations only.
Minimal information, all of which can be found easily online. It’s all public info on public businesses and nothing else. Literally not worth the paper it’s printed on, especially in the digital age we live in. This is a relic of an era before computers and the internet. Might be enjoyable for someone old or off the grid.

lots of good info....
I gave it 3 stars, because there is good info in the book, but it is not what I was looking for, or what I thought the book was...….the description of the book could use a little more detail I guess.... and there isn't a whole lot of info for the State of Idaho, which is the one I really needed more info on. but this book dose offer great contact info for the places you can hunt, (most of the places listed have a charge) I was looking for a few more places, ones I didn't have to pay for.....
