Proxxon 38544 Longneck Mini Angle Grinder LW/E

I think it's a great little tool. These reviews I'm seeing about how it doesn't have enough torque are baffling to me. This little guy isn't made to cut 1/2" bar with a cutoff wheel. It's made to deburr edges or sand a rounded surface or a million other very light duty jobs. You should have an angle grinder to do heavy duty work. I really don't get it because it seems to me if you're buying this tool, you probably have several corded angle grinders, and at least one cordless, if not more. So why you would be trying to do anything but finishing work with this is beyond me. My one complaint is how crunchy it sounds in the neck. I'm sure there is a pretty sophisticated gear train in there, but it does sound like it's gonna tear itself apart any second the whole time it's being used. I hope it only sounds like that and it continues to work, because I really like the little guy. I don't use it much, but when I do need it, I get so happy because I love using it.

This tool is hot trash. There's no power. If you put any sort of pressure on the wheel. It overheats extremely bad. I've been through two of these. Neither one of them lasted more than 10 minutes at a time before it blew up. Started smoking and burnt my hand

This is a neat little tool and has worked quite well for me. I'm in the middle of building a steel fence and I use it to shave down welds that I can't fit with my regular angle grinder. I wasn't expecting it to have the power that my Dewalt 4.5" angle grinder has but what it does have I'm quite happy with. It does what I expect it to do and that's good enough for me.

Esta Amoladora no es para cortes largos es mas bien para cortes precisos pero cortos, no esperes cortes continuos como una amoladora tradicional. Si lo usas para detalles pequeños es una maravilla, pero es precio de sus discos es un poco alto tendras que compran solo de su propia marca ya que otros podrian no se el tamaño adecuado para su eje.

I was about to purchase another one because mine burned up. Whenever I felt it getting warm I would let it cool down. I think I was covering the vented area w my gloves and that's what made it overheat and die. Apparently it's a common occurrence. I'm a power carver and I can tell you...I put it to the test!

I bought this to help trim horse hooves. It's OK but in the end, this is a Chinese built power tool. It's noisy and I don't know how long the gearbox will last. One screw has fell out. Seems to have plenty of power for the purpose. I don't feel confident that a professional woodcarver or farrier would get much life out of this but for us do-it-yourself types I think it might be fine. AFAIK there is no other tool on the market quite like this, so I guess it will have to do for now.

If you’re using it in the Tile and stone industry, diamond blades are pretty specific on the arbor diameter, but it does the job still getting used to it.

I BOUGHT THIS TOOL ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO, WHEN IT CAME IN I PLUGED IT IN AND IT SOUNDED AS IF THERE WAS A LOOSE GEAR (A RATLING) SO I RETURNED IT AND GOT REPLACEMENT. WHEN THE NEW ONE CAME IN IT SOUNDED THE SAME, SO I CALLED THE MFG. THEY SAID THATS THE WAY IT IS. NOW, I BUILD ALL KINDS OF THINGS IN METAL AND WOOD I ALSO TEST TOOLS FOR TOOL DESIGN COMPANIES, SO I KNOW WHT A TOOL SHOULD BE LIKE. I ONLY USED THE TOOL FOR A COMBINED TIME OF 16 HOURS OVER A 4 MONTH PERIOD. YESTERDAY IT SMOKED AND STOPED WORKING, THE MFG, WILL NOT REPLACE IT. NOW IM STUCK WITH A BROKEN TOOL AND $250.00 IN CARVING WHEELS WHEN IT WORKED, IT WORKED WELL TO BAD FOR THE MFG.

Quiet, powerful, light and easy to handle. This is an amazing tool!

Lasted less than an hour of total use. I used it three times and the there was a flash, puff of smoke and it's now a nice green paper weight. Low power, sounds like it's got a loose bearing and overheats with little use.
