I bought this to hold wires for a stereo install. It was easy to to use. I didn't need the magnifying glass portion so I removed it. The hands are adjustable and it did not tip over even when working with a wire harness that had well over 10 wires.I used this with both solder and with these fance shrink tubes that already had solder in them. I was able to easily use my heat gun and shrink tube attachment (looks like a rounded spatula that attaches to the heat gun) and had plenty of room to work with.It works good, does what it is supposed to do, and best of all I was able to fit it in the hardware box with all of my other wire connectors and siupplies. Oh, and it isn't that expensive, so there is that as well.

The stand itself is really helpful and works well. However, I find that the magnifying glass really doesn’t provide much magnification and is useless. I took mine off and just use the stand.

This little thing will hold tiny components for you, but its going to be finicky and it is going to want to fall over.If you don't want to spend a little more money on something which works much better, then you can probably tape it down?If you have a few more bucks to spend, I would pass on this guy.

Great little tool to have in your tech box / tool box, or whatever. I have two of these. I use one with air-brushing. But I recently picked this one up, as a second one, to use with my guitar projects, and soldering. Wow. Makes that job SO much easier. A great little helping hand!
