Really liked the color, quality and style of this scale. It would read slightly different depending on very small changes in position, etc., but was generally accurate and robust. What makes me rate this 4 instead of 5 stars was something I didn't think about when I first bought it. The dial is nice and big, but notice how it sits in between the feet a bit (probably to keep the overall dimensions smaller); this means that you're looking between your feet to see the number. Further, the needle starts (at 0) pointing up and then swings DOWN even further. At my weight, the needle was near the bottom of the big dial, burying the reading even further between my feet. That, plus the fact that the individual pound increments are hard to see being quite small, made it a struggle to actually see my weight. Not a huge deal, but I didn't want to be struggling for the next 20 years or however long this scale would last. They could have designed this at least by starting the dial (at 0) at the bottom of the bezel and swinging UP - I probably would have kept it! Otherwise, like I say, probably one of the best mechanical scales out there....

I bought this for my elderly parents because it was analog, had a wide base, and large numbers. Unfortunately, it is very inaccurate! I wish the weight reflected was real - it was 5 pounds lighter than my actual weight! I compared with two other scales, which both showed my heavier weight. I will exchange for the same scale and hope the new one will be more accurate.July 10, 2022 update:I received the replacement scale a few days after my request, and it is accurate! The first one must have been a lemon.

I got sick and tired of digital being different every 10 minutes, so this old fashioned heavy duty seems towork okay so far.

Perfect scale, I put this right next to my digital scale and compare every time I weigh in, the digital scale is always a different number each time I step on it, this scale tells the truth the first time every time. Very good purchase.

This scale is fairly accurate, at first I thought different as I got on it for the first time it showed that I had lost 6 lbs in the last 48 hours compared to the last reading a digital scale I had given me, however, I decided to put it to a test and weighed a couple of gallons of apple juice, which should've shown 16.5 Lbs and that's pretty much what it showed, so I'm keeping it. I'll keep watching it within the next few days to see how it behaves with room temperature changes.
