This is the state it arrived in. Took it out and it just fell apart.Can’t be put together but that’s besides the point, why is something this unsafe being sold in the first place?!UPDATE. I ordered 2 of these, one was visibly broken.Set the other one up, all worked ok until it was time to switch off. Christmas tree still bright and cheerful, I went to inspect what’s wrong, perhaps I’d set the timer wrong? Nope. You can spin it round and round, right round round round ... It doesn’t switch off. No idea why.I give up. We’ll just turn the Xmas tree lights on and off the old way- send kids up to to the plug socket to flick the switch on/off.

Faulty, worked fine to switch lights on but never switched them off. Was approached by seller to check product working correctly, I reported error but then never heard back from them.

It is easy to set up just turn dial to what time it is now i.e 2 p.m plug in & then put the little black teeth back on times you want your timer to come on. Mine in on for evenings to turn a lamp on so say 7 p.m - 11 p.m then the teeth as I call them go back for this time period & and if you leave it plugged in works for the time you set every day. A little red light comes on during the timer period.

Exactly what was needed!Being a house with 4 boys - WiFi was switched off at a set time - but I had to stay awake to do it.Not anymore!Automatically turns it off and on so that sleep can come to the house!

This timer is so basic, it doesn't need instructions, just common sense. Unlike the battery powered, mains switching timers, where you spend a considerable time setting them up, only to find that Saturday isn't part of the working week etc., this is similar to an abacus. It doesn't 'crash', it exposes a coloured strip for the ON hours and the switch on its side is simply and override ON and TIMER. It even has a little clock to tell you which is which. You will set this up inside a minute and it will switch quite a hefty load (3 KW). The bottom line is rather hackneyed nowadays, but quite apt in this case. Simply fit and forget. The price is right too.
