Whoa! Capacity meets cool vintage style.
I spent literally a month or more searching for just the perfect rucksack for college. I own another, much smaller rucksack, which is perfect for day-to-day, take my lunch and a few other items to work kind of thing, but far too small for a Chromebook, a half dozen textbooks, notebooks, folders, etc So I was trying to find something that offered capacity without looking "oversized" when wearing it, but also looked great. I like the military look and was searching for something with a military/retro vibe. I was a bit scared when I opened the Amazon box that this was NOT what I wanted, because it was folded up in a plastic sleeve and appeared small - oh no, did I accidentally order the small? Nope, once I unfolded it...wow. Opened it up to find TONS of capacity, enough for even this book lover to stack books plus my laptop. Now, there is no laptop "sleeve" inside, but I knew that going in and will press into service a protective sleeve for my laptop when I carry it here (decent neoprene sleeves are easily available for around $10). The inside capacity is so large, in fact, that if I leave the library one day with a real load of books I could easily stack the books one on top of each other in this bag, rather than sliding them in the traditional way. But, curiously and happily, when this is slung over my shoulder it just doesn't LOOK that big. I'm about 5'6" and wearing it I was surprised to see it stops at my waist, it isn't overly long like one might expect from a bag with this much volume internally I love the army green military, which is a slightly muted green, adding to its vintage appeal. The inside zippered pocket is plenty large for notepads, mouse, power supply etc. The outside pockets will easily handle my water bottle and even LUNCH in the large front one. I read online several reviewers note that the "faux" buckle straps had been lost, that they fell off, rendering them (and their snaps) useless and had read one reviewer offer tips on securing them. And I knew exactly what they were talking about, as I'd had another bag by a different manufacturer lose similar straps. HOWEVER, when I went to secure these, to make sure I never lose them, I found it would be near impossible to lose them - I don't know if the manufacturer wised up and made a slight design modification or what, but the ends of the straps now have a leather accent piece that is just slightly wider than the mouth of the buckles, so even if the buckle pin were to come loose, the strap would be difficult to get through the buckle without angling it or pinching it to get it through, which means it wouldn't just fall off. It's a nice touch, and while I had several options in mind for securing the straps from the get go, when I noticed that I didn't even bother. Gotta say I'm impressed - this really exceeds my expectations. I needed a bag that would carry me through grad school and beyond and I really think this fits the bill. Would highly recommend.

THIS BACKPACK IS IN SCARY PINOCHIO MOVIE!!!
first of all i just gotta say I have been using this backpack for a few months now just for basic stuff like carrying my college things and a few books around daily, and i LOVE ITTT!!!! its so stylish and and very very durable. I am not too kind too my backpacks typically so they dont last me awhile but this lasts incredibly well. I even used it as my 2nd carryon for a trip recently and its small enough to fit beneath your seat but has so much capacity its almost like another suitcase (if you pack it right) ALSO ALSO i just watched pinochio unstrung last night (not that great) BUT this backpack is worn by the main character and i thought that was just wonderful CAUSE I HAVE IT!!!!!

Durable and spacious
9/2022: I have had this backpack since January 2017 and absolutely love it! This is my first and only review; that’s how much I love it. I have used and abused this thing. I primarily used it for school and traveling; I am always surprised at how much I can cram into the backpack. Pretty much anytime I need to carry a lot, this has come with me. There are little rips and frays on the bottom of the bag but this was only after I carried small, pointy pieces of metal for a sculpture I was making that it tore a hole, but that was 4 or more years ago and the hole has not gotten bigger. The other fraying on the bottom is expected after this many years of overstuffing and abuse. I used to cram a large ArtBin (15 x 10 x 7.75 inches) plus a couple books/binders and jacket inside, not counting the small pockets. Some people have mentioned that they’re surprised at how much can fit inside and I agree, the bag itself doesn’t look like it can fit as much as it does. Only after I REALLY overstuffed this bag (like had to force the clasps closed) over a period of a week did one of the metal clasps come undone. It was totally my fault and I think if you’re clearly stretching to close things, of course they will break; I ended up replacing it because the rest of the bag was worth it. It can also carry quite a bit of weight, though I’m not sure I would recommend doing it regularly. I carried a tool bag full of galvanized small steel pipes (30-40lbs) around along with other items and had no problems; I think my back took more damage than the bag. The arm straps at the top are completely intact after all this time which I think is incredible as this is usually where a backpack shows the first signs of damage for me. The smaller pockets definitely hold a lot themselves, but I wouldn’t recommend putting really small or loose things on the outside because they might fall out, more so if the large inner pocket of backpack is not very full. When it is more full I haven’t had this problem. The inner zipper pocket has about as much space as the large outer pocket but has a zipper where you can keep small things that might get lost. Side pockets can fit big bottles among other things. I used to wish that there were more zippered compartments so things would be more organized but now I like how versatile it is; I don’t have a lot of random compartments I don’t use because of odd sizes. Other reviews mention the backpack is flimsy, but it is not in terms of durability. It does not hold its shape, but it can be convenient if you’re shoving it into a trunk when you’re out of room. It can be a little annoying if you have nothing to lean it on so it can sit up right but I’ve always kinda considered that an aesthetic choice. Otherwise, it may be an issue if you’re carrying something fragile inside, I would recommend getting a case for those special items or using a binder for papers. I got a bag for my 16” laptop to keep it protected. I would also say that how you organize items in the bag will help alleviate some of the ‘flimsiness’. Placing the bottom flat on the ground and organizing large books in the back and smaller things in the front will help not only with how it sits but with how the items feel on your back when walking. I’ve had a few times where I didn’t do this and some things can feel a little awkwardly placed but it’s an easy fix. The adjustable straps can be loose and slowly untighten as you’re walking, especially if the bag is really heavy. However, there is a specific way to wrap the straps so that it stays in place. When I bought the bag I think there was a review that mentioned it but also my mom showed me how. I ultimately didn’t like it so locked in place and have gotten used to adjusting when I put it on, it’s very easy to adjust. Maybe there should be instructions provided on how to tie/lock it so it stays for people that want that. I don’t think I would recommend this bag for big cities, personally. It is pretty easy to get in and out of the bag, which is great for the user but also for everyone else. However, there are plenty of other backpacks that I would say the same for and have seen even less secure bags in the city so I’m sure it is a matter of preference. I don’t really have to worry about it since I don’t live in an area that has a problem with pickpockets. I remember before purchasing this I was regularly going through backpacks every year or 2. I purchased a similar style with a different company a year and a half prior to this purchase that had really horrible zippers, was nowhere near as spacious and was falling apart. The only reason I am now considering a new bag is because I spilled one part resin in the front pocket years ago and have not been able to get rid of it; it is always collecting gunk and I hate that it’s never clean. I also washed it with some jeans and now it looks even more permanently dirty. I may use this bag for dirtier jobs, but if I do I will be purchasing another. I am a little disappointed they have added their logo to the top flap, as I’m used to having my own pins all over it and I don’t like parading any brand but that is not a big deal. Maybe I’ll go for coffee color next time so I don’t have to worry about it getting dingy. I think this bag could last many more years and I would recommend it again and again! UPDATE 9/29/22: First Impressions of new bag: The bag seems just as well made as the first one. The snap closures seem to be more secure; I can feel a stronger snap when opening and closing and comparing to my old bag it appears to be a little bit bigger so they must be taking reviews into consideration. Big, rugged, functional and not for yuppies
Only reason for 4 out of 5 is I would like the snaps to be a little harder to snap and unsnap, for added security. That said, I love the look and feel. looks not new but not distressed. I want to be the one that stresses it. I bought this for an upcoming trip to Belize. You know jungle and hiking and stuff. The wife has a backpack of many pockets, neoprene space fabric and padded this and thats. I wanted one that was more basic and allowed for big items, you know whatever wouldn't fit in hers. This is one big bag with three pouches on the sides and a zipper pouch inside the big bag towards the top. The "side pockets" as all the flaps, close with a snap or buckle. Meaning there is a snap closure so you can choose to use either snap or buckle. As I said I would like them to have required more effort to open or close. It's not like they pop open I just would feel a bit more secure if they needed more effort. All pockets are roomy, definitely will fit water bottles and more. The main bag is ROOMY. This bag is soft and flexible so you can fit anything that fits into it. By that I mean weird shaped thing. IE snorkel fins, machete, boots, towels. You know jungly stuff. Attached toward the top is a canvas pouch with zipper opening, kind of hidden in plain sight thing going on. This is perfect for the stuff you want more secured. Maps on the outside back pouch with a little money and replaceable necessities, inside your money and passports, phone and such. The top handle is securely on for tossing and grabbing it. The fabric feels durable as all get out and I can't wait to get it dirty. The stitching is good quality with no loose threads hanging out. I love the color as well. An olive drab without looking like a military bag. Stylish with the I don't care look. Think Indiana Jones-y.The back is NOT padded, meaning pack it correctly and it will feel ok on you. I over stuffed it and went through taking it off and on and it swings like every other packback. Being canvas it will take some time to dry when it gets wet so keep that in mind. Weight wise, slightly heavier than the wife's multipouch space backpack.

Backpack that you can tell will last a LONG time!
Just got this backpack and I absolutely love it. I can easily see this thing lasting a really really long time. It's made of thick canvas that you would see on a military style sleeping bag for example. But due to it being a canvas rucksack and not like a nylon backpack, it is very flexible and will squish down like a very broken-in bag when you set it on the ground. The backpack looks great and when you fully open up the rucksack, wow it has an insane amount of room in it. Due to it being canvas its very comfortable on your back and the straps are as well. I have always been one to kind of collect backpacks as I see ones that I like, typically military style, but this one is by far my favorite right now and I am switching to it and can see myself staying with it for a very long time. Definitely my new favorite bag already. I've been taking this backpack to work so far and putting gear in it and I've been using it for just taking clothes, towels, glasses, chargers, and other basic things around town. Going to use it for street bike rides as well and honestly it's probably gunna be my backpack I use for everything now. I've yanked at all the stitching and seams and they aren't going anywhere. You can tell the canvas material is very strong feeling yet flexible. You can tell this is a very well made backpack that is going to last years. I can't believe this backpack was only $42. Absolutely love it. Note: The buckles are cosmetic and there are actually metal snaps underneath which I prefer because it would get old having to undo the buckles everytime. They seem very secure right now and I have no doubts that they will open up the canvas flap itself has some weight to it to hold it down/closed. I will update if there becomes any issues, but right now is this a steal of a backpack for the price.

Lasting durability for all seasons
Durable, useful, ample space. Side pockets large enough for a water bottle or a mass market paperback. Buckles and snaps mostly. Small zipper pouch stitched to top of the main compartment good for small parts amd components that are easy to lose.

well done
This bag is made with quality materials and has a nice color that looks great in person. The buttons and hardware feel well-made, and the overall construction is sturdy, it offers a decent amount of storage space for everyday items, but the structure could be improved. When carrying it for longer distances, it can become less comfortable and practical due to the lack of support and organization. Overall, it's a decent bag with good materials, but the design could use some improvements for the better everyday use.

Durable, practical easy on the eyes bag
Looks better and a bit bigger in reality. Lovely bag. Got it for my daughter school bag and she loves it. Material seems solid and durable and practical. This bag should last years! Lol

Huge capacity, very very well made
I absolutely love love love this bag. After ordering other rucksacks and returning due to being too small, this bag is frankly huge! I ordered the camo and can say it is actually more beautiful than the picture, very very hard wearing canvas, loads of pockets/space. I want this for day fishing with hubby to pack lunch for picnics but we can actually fit our Kelly Kettle in with ease as well along with the pans cups etc. Fantastic value for money. Ideal for camping/days out office equipment, will easily fit a laptop phone etc. highly recommended.

Great Backpack!
LOVE this backpack. Was looking for something large and strong for longer travel yet still able to use for lighter trips without being bulky and can fold up into another back to bring out later on trip. This is the Large size. Please see photos attached: front pocket size and side pocket and hanging next to belt bag so you can see size. Also see whole shoe box inside bottom of bag to help you see if size is right for you. Great value for money and canvas is strong but soft (not all stiff like some lesser comparisons :) Thank you for making this style and size bag 🙏Thank you

Bien.
