Well written and good stories
This is one of this author's books I've read. I found it well written and some good stories from some good reports but I don't believe in his evolutionary theory. It was hard to read so much about the millions of years thrown about as if it were fact when there is no way to prove it. The theory of evolution is a "theory" but it's being presented as fact. Darwin himself admitted before he died that he regretted his theory and much of what he believed was taken out of context. It's very possible that there are several types of these beings that exist, some may be entirely physical, some may be tampered with...and some may be supernatural! My own experience say's what people are seeing is supernatural in many cases. Supernatural can be as rel as anything else but with the ability to shift into another realm...it's really the only thing that makes sense to me! The evolutionary theory is being abandoned by scientist more and more...only those who want government money keep the myth going! It's a good book and good read...because of the stories!

More entertainment than informative, lots of already debunked cryptids
It's all right, about the same as the others and nothing substantially new. The eyewitness accounts are an interesting if not hilarious read.My real gripe is that many of these "cryptids" have already been debunked or were proven to be nothing more than exotic or wild animals bought illegally as pets and later abandoned. This book is for the "true believers" I suppose. Author sure did spend a lot of time on a chapter of what is essentially a latex dummy in a glass container. The hair being way too intact was already a dead giveaway.

Like a kid in a candy store .....
IMHO an EXCELLENT read and an ABSOLUTELY Terrific Reference Resource. The shear amount of information, *attention to descriptive details* and flow is amazing..... it ALL connects. This book has opened up so many, many new opportunities to expand my studies. I have learned so much! I am grateful for your time, effort and sharing. Thank you! If you are interested in ancient cave art with unusual hand prints or drawings ..... you might find the answer here! i.e. [...]

Very interesting eyewitness accounts...
Those mythical beasts, that you've been told don't exist, may actually be a real...at least some of them. Ken has included many eyewitness accounts that were forwarded to and investigated by several reliable sources. He also included several of his own investigations...which includes his thoughts and healthy skepticism. I truly enjoyed this title and recommend it to all cryptid enthusiasts.

Cryptozoology
The best so far of books I have read on cryptozoology. It also touched on the paranormal, but mostly stuck to the strange, and mostly large animals that may or may not exist.

A Fun Book
A quick read about the many monsters in our midst, mythological or otherwise. Whether the incidents described in this book are factual or not, it was an enjoyable read.

Same old same old
A rehash of interesting creatures with not much depth or substance. Not much new here but was fine for a casual read.

Worth reading if your into Cryptids
Most books on the unknown disappoint me. They never offer any solid evidence and leave many questions unanswered this book is no different but the author offers many new stories.I was attracted to this book by an appearance by the author on Coast To Coast AM. I'm not sorry I bought it. It's an interesting read.

I found the book tended to be dry and factual ...
I found the book tended to be dry and factual which was the author's intention however, I cannot say it held my attention or that I wanted to learn more.

Cryptid classic
Ken Gerhard is one of the great popular crypto zoologists our generation is blessed with . A thoroughly entertaining teller of tales. Whether you believe or not it's nice to think that in this media frenzied day and age there's a little bit of magic and mystery knocking about.
