Great but hard to remove the backing from the velcro.
Trying to remove the back of the Velcro strips is mission impossible. Otherwise a good product but those strips…yikes. I would have given it a 5-star rating if not for the difficulty removing the backing from the velcro strips.

These things are LEGIT
It amazes me how ridiculous people are to include removing the backing from the sticky tape in their review. This item is all about filtering the air and prevent things from coming up or going down the floor registers. A snug fit is necessary. Seriously think about it- it’s part of how these things function. Same with the thickness of the material. C’mon people. How’s it supposed to do its job? It’s not that thick anyway. I live in an old 1980’s rental with an old 1980’s crappy hvac system that’s in the funky crawl space underneath. My a/c has no decrease in air flow and is as cold as it always was. The difference being, after a few days the air felt “crisper” because it was coming out cleaner through that extra layer of filter. Most importantly, the bugs coming from the crawl space were gone. I had gnats and springtails driving me to the insane asylum and the “snug fit” people complained about is what stopped those suckers. That’s the main reason I bought these and I’ll keep buying.

Floor register filters
Who knew these were a thing??? I’m glad I found them, they really work. I have a vent right next my bathroom vanity that was always covered in dark dust no matter how much I wiped everything down. I covered the inside of the vent and waited. I’m honestly saying the amount of dust on the table top and toothbrush holder is cut from the dark dust that comes from my basement to just normal day to day light dust. These will also catch anything that falls into the vent. I’ve put these in all of my vents and notice no loss of air circulation through the house

Works!
Context:- have about 10 registers throughout house- some are 4x12 and some 4x10- have dust and debris coming out of a few of them (have tried vent cleaning but hasn’t worked and don’t have energy to do a full replacement of ducting at this time)Pros:- Airflow is good- easy to install- can easily cut 4x12 to fit 4x10 - they’re just flat pieces of filter and Velcro strips. Nothing fancyCons:- will be tough to slip registers back in if yours already fit tightlyTips:- make sure vents are fully opened before attaching filter and inserting into floor/wall - this will ensure you’ve left enough space to allow register to open / close freely- if you have diff size registers just buy the 4x12 and cut them down to fit 4x10 instead of buying multiple packs.

So far, so good. (Update!)
Was “iffy” about this product in the beginning, because of how thick it is, and although it does weaken airflow, my room was still just as cold as before. I’m waiting for the ones for the living room to arrive, which are for bigger vents, and in a room closer to the thermostat, so anxious to see how long it takes for the larger areas to cool to desired temp before triggering the a/c to click off. If I notice it’s taking longer, resulting in costing me more money in electricity, may have to find a thinner alternative. Then again that just might be the cheaper cost to pay for better air quantity, opposed to changing out the entire system. Otherwise, so far so good. Also, I read a review that the filters make it hard to push back into place, which I like because it makes the vents fit more snug. Only gave 4 stars because it takes some time to separate the velcro from the clear backing. Had to take a blade to slightly cut and peel.Update! The filters have been great at filtering and that can be seen when you pull the vents out of the floor and can see the dust it has blocked. In the original review I mentioned that it does restrict air flow and that I would have to wait to see how it impacts how well it cool and heats the house to know if the filters are having a negative impact on my system, causing it to run longer, in turn costing me more money. Well here in this 2022 heat wave from hell I had no choice but to remove them, as this heat has been so intense that any air flow restriction is not acceptable, and has been causing my unit to run much longer than it should. Not to mention that my thermostat is located in a bad spot in the house that doesn’t have the greatest airflow. In the winter, the airflow was still restricted, but still kept the house warm, and colder weather mixed with heat and being able to throw on a sweater if needed, to conserve energy/money, is far more acceptable than a hot one.All in all the filters are great at doing their job and becomes a thing of comfort over health and how bad your situation is when it comes to allergens and how clean your ducts are. And if it’s that bad you may just need to have your system professionally cleaned. My home is an older one that needs more efficient windows and I’m sure that plays a part in my a/c unit issues. Saying that to say, in a newer more up to date home, you may not notice that big of a difference. So there are a lot of factors to consider when using these, with the biggest being your health.Kinda lengthy I know, but hopefully it helps.
