Very well made reflector fixture

Works well in -45 temperatures
I really like this lamp. It works well for the price. I bought it for some turkeys. I am currently using it for some extra heat for my turkeys that live in a shed outside. I live in Alaska so it has been in temperatures as low as -45 degrees. It still works fine it had not problem running. The one thing to keep in mind it you use it in really cold temperatures you will need to tighten the heat bulb in it. When it got below zero I thought that it quit working but I found out that when it got cold the bulb shrunk a little so I tightened the bulb and it lit up no problem and has been running well since.

Great clamp
If I could give this a 10 star rating. Needed it for a small area and the clamp grips tight so no worries that it will come loose

Works but you need something to hang it!!!
I got this "brooding" lamp to use with TheraBulb NIR-A Near Infrared Silicone Coated Safety Bulb - Small Form 150 Watt , which is a 150 watt incandescent bulb that recommends a lamp socket rated 250 watt or above. Initially, I dismissed the idea of buying a whole new lamp for it (I already have a clamp lamp that seemed similar to this one) but after reading the directions (and some scary reviews describing exploding bulbs) I realized that my clamp lamp wasn't rated for anything above 60w, and definitely not for heat. I'm REALLY glad I decided to shell out the extra $12 for this one because the bulb definitely puts out a lot of heat and this lamp handles it safely. There is no on/off switch for this lamp, but how much this bothers you will probably depend on your set up and how paranoid you are about the safety of it. The lack of an on/off switch won't matter if you're leaving it plugged into a socket that has a light switch. I wasn't planning on leaving this lamp out and plugged in all the time anyways, so it doesn't bother me. The directions for my bulb actually say specifically not to ever leave the lamp it's used with plugged in unattended--even if it's "off" (probably a safety issue with all heat bulbs). The cord is short, but it's nice and strong. It's never sparked any time I have plugged or unplugged it (my other clamp lamp sparks every time!). Make sure you use it with a surge protected socket (I think most are surge protected). I find this lamp easy to handle and manuver even when it's hot. I've never used it for hours at a time though (might be different depending on the bulb and how long it's burning). I HAVE noticed that the ceramic socket gets really hot but the metal sides and the cage guard have never burned me when I've touched them, even after 30 mins (I find it interesting that they don't get anywhere near as hot). The cage guard also isn't as annoying as I thought it would be. Those wires actually protect the bulb from breaking if it drops to the floor. I find the clamp completely useless which is why I took off a star (if your lamp doesn't come with one I'd say good riddance). The clamp is so strong that I can barely get it to open and even when I have clamped it successfully to something it takes so much adjustment and messing around that I've just found it more convenient to hang this lamp from the metal hook on the top (i've got it hanging from a lamp similar to LEPOWER Metal Floor Lamp, Adjustable Head Standing Lamp with Heavy Metal Based, Reading Light for Living Room, Bedroom, Study Room and Office ). Luckily, the clamp is removable and there's already nice metal ring on this lamp to hang it. You're supposed to use a metal chain or hook to hang it BTW (you risk safety issues otherwise--especially if you're using it for brooding). ETA (or TL/DR): I use this lamp for light therapy and recently ended up buying this heavy duty mic stand to hang it: Pyle Heavy Duty Microphone Stand - Height Adjustable from 51.2'' to 78.75'' Inch High w/ Extendable Telescoping Boom Arm 29.5'' and Stable Tripod Base - Clutch in T-Bar Adjustment Point PMKS56 . This setup is the best i've ever found! It works really well--WAY better than those useless clamps or hanging it every time I want to use it! Looks like a real lamp and it's super versatile because it's so adjustable. There are cheaper $20 mic stands you could probably try, but I haven't tried any of those.

Protective wires are firm
The clamps are flat and straight and so it will slide down with weight unless there is something to stop it from sliding. The protective wires are great to protect the 250W light I put in it.

Works very well.
This worked very well for my chicks. I used a ceramic bulb that did not have the light. I used it inside my home not outdoors.

Metal reflector is very easily bent or dented, which may be a problem for you.
OK product, lightweight metal reflector dish is easily damaged in shipping, particularly how Amazon is sending them out. I bought 3 and returned 2 for replacement because the reflector dish things were all banged up. Got two more that are only bent a little. Be careful what you clamp this to. It removed some (not fresh at all) paint from something I clamped it to, so now I need to re-paint that.
