Informatives, reich illustriertes Buch nicht nur über Protea, sondern auch über weniger bekannte Gattungen der Familie Proteaceae. Vorgestellt werden zum großen Teil Kultivare, einige davon nach Verlagsangabe erstmals im Druck. Die Qualität der Abbildungen ist recht unterschiedlich: Rund ein Drittel der über 360 Bilder ist erstklassig, ein weiteres Drittel ordentlich bis gut, der Rest leidlich; mindestens zwei Bilder stehen auf dem Kopf. Der Text ist fundiert und anschaulich, detailliert, aber nicht überladen. Ratschläge zu Kultivierung und Vermehrung sind vorangestellt, das Hauptgewicht liegt auf Beschreibungen von über 120 Arten und Sorten.Für jeden, der mehr als nur ein oberflächliches Interesse an diesen außergewöhnlichen Pflanzen hat, ist das Buch eine klare Empfehlung. Der Preis ist keine Bagatelle, aber für das Gebotene angemessen.

o man baby, i have search for protea books with no luck until i came across this beauty. So this is what you do, stop searching buy this book.. wait your days with anticipation.. when it arrives ask you significant other to lock all credit cards and money away so you cant get to it... once this is done.. begin to open book.. make sure significant other can defend themselves and telephone is near by so that when you threaten him/her for money to buy plants they are safe and prepared for what ever you throw at them. ;) Enjoy the book is awesoom in short.. PS no such thing as a 10 in my book but this is pretty darn close.
