It will cover the wrist does not go that far up the forearm.

I got this for my son who is 17 years old, 5’8” and 130 lbs. I got him a small and after 2 seasons of use it it still fits snug. He is not super built in the arms but it has helped protect him from the occasional wild pitch. I am 5’11 and 195 and tried his small. You should be fine with a Adult Meduim, unless you have some big guns. Hope this helped
