I bought this for my son so he can begin to adventure through the different kinds of gemstone before moving on to crystals. Then it gives a second level to him, an opportunity to see and find them in an alternative setting (rtificial - natural). The book then takes this adventure to a third level where he can then get to know the basic information about his gemstone discovery.All in all he was very impressed and we had a great time bonding together in between which was a fab way to connect.A very good set of adventures all within and outwith the box one. That is worth so much more than what this costs and will last for years to come.

Perfect gift for our 7 year old. It has kept him and his older sister busy and they’ve loved digging out the gems and checking what they are

Daughter enjoyed digging them out and working out which was which. Loved the diamond. However disappointed one was missing (Opal). This was after dissolving the lot in hot water and putting through a sieve so no chance we missed it.

Gift for my 6 year old gem lover. He has a treasure chest and likes to collect gems. He so enjoyed digging for the gems and not too difficult for little hands.

We had fun with this, it was quite difficult to find a couple as they were very small. Given the price I think the gems could have been bigger and then been worth the money.

I bought one of these for my eldest (10yo) for Christmas and she loved it. I had to fight my 4yo off it so bought him one for his birthday and it was a huge hit. My 8yo also asked for the fossil one. Prepare for a bit of mess (you can take measures to contain it) and make sure they check thoroughly for the odd tiny one. Overall lots of fun and even the adults joined in.

My daughter loves these kits, kept her occupied for a few hours and she loves the gemstones.

My son loved this - it was a sixth birthday gift, unfortunately one stone was missing. He enjoyed finding the stones and cleaning them up, then identifying them with the guide.
