Unsatisfactory delivery/ updated review
I need this part for a trip on 8/12 and ordered it with next day delivery. The delivery driver delivered an EMPTY plastic bag that was never sealed. I ordered a replacement immediately after noticing and it says if I don’t return original part in 30 days I will be charged again but the replacement will be delivered this evening 8/11 by 5pm. Now the updated delivery time is tomorrow evening which sets me a day behind. I better not be charged for 1 late part and 1 empty plastic envelope. After the original review was submitted the product was delivered and it was a perfect OEM fit. Plug and play, no wiring required and I now have full electrical connection to my trailer.

Perfect fit
it's a perfect fit, and works like a charm. Took all of 10 minutes to install.

Great for retrofit to GM truck
I replaced the hitch on my 2005 GMC Sierra, and needed a new trailer wiring plug -- the OEM hitch plug bracket was welded to the old hitch. I first ordered a Curt plug + bracket, which was disappointing -- the Curt 4-way and 7-way were separate, with some messy wiring, and their bracket didn't come with mounting hardware. Returned it, bought this Hopkins plug + bracket, which is much nicer -- came with 2 self-tapping screws and cleaner wiring. The Hopkins plug attaches straight to the GM wiring (after disconnecting it from the old 7-pin), and it was an easy drill and mount to the underside of the stock rear bumper. Nice to have the combo 7-way and 4-way plugs too.

Looks great on 2006 Ford F-150, but required custom hardware
The stock plug on my 2006 Ford F-150 was cracked and the bracket rusted off. I could replace the plug itself with a Dorman one that looks OEM (and in fact I believe Dorman was the OEM), but I couldn't find a new bracket anywhere. It looks like the bracket might have originally been welded to the reinforcement bar inside the rear bumper, so perhaps nobody sells it as a separate piece.Anyway I found this Hopkins one and decided to try to make it work. I'm happy to report that I was able to, and it looks great. I did have to buy some custom hardware to mount it, though. If I just bolted the included bracket directly to the bumper (and I mean the steel part inside the chrome bumper, which is how it is on mine anyway), the plug would have sat sort of inside the chrome bumper, and you wouldn't be able to open the little doors on it. I really didn't want to drill into my hitch receiver or the chrome bumper, so instead I went to the hardware store and got a couple bolts, washers, nuts, and two spacers about 1.5" if I remember. I bolted it to the steel bumper bar with the spacers between the bar and the bracket. Now it sits just below the edge of the chrome bumper and looks like it belongs. The one caveat is that there was only one hole in the steel bar, and I didn't feel like figuring out how to drill another one (and I also have an default inclination not to permanently modify things if I can help it for whatever reason), so I actually only bolted one side to the bar, and on the other side I turned the bolt upside down so I had a flat surface at the top and just used the tension of the first bolt to keep the second one pressed tight up against the bottom of the bar. It doesn't move unless you really try to shove it. Just plugging in and unplugging the wires doesn't move it. So it's pretty much perfect.Anyway the plug itself is high quality and even comes with dielectric grease already on the pins. It's an entirely different style than what was stock on my truck, but it looks great and is better anyway. Both the 4-pin connector and the 7-pin one are driven off the circular plug on the harness. On my truck that means the original 4-pin connector is still wired up, but I zip tied it up out of the way. The pins were corroded on it anyway.

Fit my F350 perfectly
I am usually pessimistic about replacement parts that claim to work just like the original. Still, I was pleasantly surprised when it took me only about a minute to remove the old receptacle and plug this one in. Every now and then, I am surprised; this was one of those times. I connected my trailer, and voila, everything, including the brakes, worked. Thank you, Hopkins, for the rare pleasant experience!
