I had to give it 5 stars because it's such a great idea. My grandson loved it, & since I make up my own code & hints for the code, I'm going to order more for his future gifts! HOWEVER, that being said, the purple ring is a very dark purple with black letters so I actually had to get a flashlight to read the letters!Update: The seller contacted me to let me know that the wheel stickers can be CAREFULLY removed to change the code & be used a second time. Now I wish I could give it 6 stars! I ordered 2 more for other grandchildren! And it's fun inventing complicated clues. Google "3 letter words" & then look for words with several meanings & several spellings.

I always buy my granddaughter a puzzle for Christmas. I don't like spending a lot of money on these puzzles because a lot of the time they are a piece of junk and I only use them once, or they are so hard that I can't even figure them out. This puzzle was nicely put together and easy to figure out. It's a 3 letter code. You can't change the code once it's set, but you could re-gift it to someone else. I wrote out Christmas riddles that she had to solve that helped her crack the code. It took her about 45 minutes to answer all the riddles and figure out the code. Since it was Christmas time her code was set to ELF. The tray then slides out and it's big enough for money or a gift card.

This is a really cut way to give money or a gift card. The combination is a 3 letter word. You write a clue and the receipent has to guess what the word is in order to open it. . I gave it to my 15 year old granddaughter with money inside and she loved it. It took her a while to figure out what the word was. Unfortunately once you stick the 3 letter wheels on they are permanent so you can't reuse it unless you use the same word. It was a little pricey, but it was worth it.

If you are planning to give money or a gift card, this makes your gift truly memorable for the recipient. We bought it as a birthday gift for our 12-year old grandson. It was easy for me to set the code, and hard for him to figure it out -- all good! We wrote a poem that contained clues as to the combination. His younger (8-year-old) brother phoned us the next day to ask us to explain exactly how it worked, and he indicated that he would have LOVED to receive one. It's a bit pricier than some puzzles, but definitely worth it. I'd definitely buy one again.

I enjoyed this gift. I created a poem with several three letter words in it. Since I gave several individuals the same gift, I used different words so no one knew what the others word was. It was great. They made it a competition and the person who usually wins the games, lost this time! Great gift!!!

A unique and entertaining way to gift money or a gift certificate. But, it's a bit flimsy and not reusable, unless the same letter combination is used. Too expensive.

Very easy to set up if you want to give cash or a check and make them earn the reward. The drawer slides out very easy as long as the right letters are lined up correctly. I thought it was very easy to set this up and wasn't at all overly complicated. My only complaint is that unless you can unpeel the stickers and move the letters around you have to set up the same word to unlock the device if you wanted to use this again. $15 isn't a lot for a disposable item but for a little more money probably could be done so it can be used again with a new 3 letter combination.

This was so much fun! My nephews loved trying to figure out the words. I do think it is way overpriced for the quality though.
