Good book
Good book An interesting police procedural with an unusual plot. I am sorry there are new further books in the series. I look forward to more

Clever!
If this were a tv series, my comment would be: great ensemble cast! The characters are well developed and work closely together to solve crimes. This crime, seemingly random requires all the skills of the team and is an unusual plot. Please, David Pearson, write more Irish mysteries featuring these characters! I have read all of them!

it’s okay
But, I found it to be fairly boring and a little simplistic. There could have been much more drama and more forensics to spice it up a bit. The killer was both smart at the killings and inept at attacking the female detective. All the characters could have been fleshed out more. Not sorry I read it, but it could have been ‘more.’

Must Need a Minimum Length
The story of the crime is well presented, and details about how the suspect arranged each death were realistic enough to keep me engaged. Where I found credibility to be strained was when the suspect was released for “weak” evidence. Why authors ( not just Mr. Pearson) equate circumstantial evidence with insufficient evidence is annoying. An assault on a police officer, fleeing other police officers, blood from a crime scene (and in 2020 I really doubt that most defense lawyers could challenge remand on having less than 3mL— an amount associated with paternity testing not forensic analysis) is insufficient to deny bail? I guess the author needed to add a few extra twists to get that “confession”.

well written, good story, poor female character
Several old ladies in retirement homes die. Who did it ? At the first death, the family comes under investigation. But then a second lady dies. And a third. The murderer is meticulous, but then an old lady does not die...The only thing I did not like, is how easily the female second in command is put aside to have the boss come back in. She makes a very poor impression, and I wish she would have done the investigation herself. I m a woman and I took off a star for that.

Old folks home murders
What is behind a serial killer making away with certain, mostly healthy, seniors in a variety of care homes? The team at Store St Gardai in Dublin always seem to be one step behind in their search for the killer. How many will there be before he/she is brought to justice? And will justice prevail once he is captured? A great read.
