Bought this to replace some of the snaps that have gone missing on our marching band's heavy rain coats. I tried to cut corners by ordering the sort you have to hammer in first but those are so time consuming and honestly once you price it out, not much of a savings. I don't know yet how well these will hold up but the snaps all seem to work on the same principal so if the snaps rust or fall out, the snap setter should still work to set something of better quality. I want to be able to replace snaps in a hurry, on a bus or on the turf, without having to carry around a hammer around and wandering off to find a solid surface to use it against.I'll update once our coats have withstood a few rainy games or parades.The only negative I see so far is that this is very much a one trick pony - works for one size of snaps and only metal snaps, not grommets or plastic snaps - but for the price, it does the job well. I've even made use of it a few times now for items that didn't already have a snap and the hole punch feature works great even through multiple layers of fabric. Easy to use once you get the knack for it - no tools needed to change the different pieces.

I own a few camper vans that have snaps inside to hold curtains and other things in place.Some of the straps with snaps on them broke, so I got this to help fix them. I never knew it existed before, but it works so easily and smoothly! Having the magnet to hold the piece in place is amazing.

I am a first-time user of one of these snap fastener tool kits, and it was very simple and easy instructions and successfully completed the task that I bought it for was to secure a loose end on my dogs leather collar. This is a great tool. I recommended highly.

I used this to snap a skirt to my RV. It worked well on the thick shipping tarp I used. It was very simple to use, and the instructions are clearly written.

This one is ACTUALLY heavy duty. Metal pieces and worked well. Also came with plenty of snaps for my small project. I had purchased the competitors, but it was very light duty and cheaply made. I should have known better as Amazon said it is a frequently returned product. Yes, I returned it in favor of this one...

I have had a great experience using this tool. First, it is sturdy and allows you to apply LOTS of pressure to ensure that the snaps are well seated in the fabric. I used it to put snaps on a neoprene fabric with sewn velcro strips. (the velcro lost its ability to close). It was important that the snaps themselves were made of brass and impervious to salts and rainy weather. I can't report yet whether they stand the test of time - but, I did love the tool, instructions, and doing my little project!

Does the job, and is a lot better than the little “punch” and “anvil” set that sometimes comes with rivet packs.

Great tool, snaps not so much. Too many failures.
