This puzzle is the size of most 1,000 piece puzzles so each piece is larger. That's a bonus for this one as it is very detailed. Once I got over the fact that the placement of background images is unrelated to geography, I enjoyed it thoroughly. The pieces are interesting shapes although I don't like the tabs. The tabs are all the same size and and squashed, not round. (Unlike the image on the box.) But I loved the map and the the art, so I'm giving it 5 stars. As usual with Dowdle, the box is substantial and it includes numbered, image notes that are fun to read.

Dowdle puzzles are by far the best quality I've ever purchased. The pieces are a little larger than most and they fit perfectly and never have a missing piece. I highly recommend them. Several puzzles with high ratings have very small pieces that don't fit well and come in tiny boxes. Make sure the puzzle dimensions are somewhere between 19 and 20 in for a 500-piece puzzle otherwise the pieces are going to be a half an inch long.

These are the best puzzles ever! Pieces fit together well, are a good size and best of all the artist has a great ability to make the puzzle much more fun because of the great detail in the paintings. Dowdle Puzzles are the only ones I buy.

i bought this as a gift for my husband and he loved it! we ended up sticking it and framing it on the wall so it now looks like a cool map!!
