First off hair brushes are already 10x better that silicone brushes. Now that we said that, the brush itself is meh. It's a basic brush, fantastic for the price. I've had it 2 months and it's a little frayed and less smooth from drying out after each hand wash

When dabbing in sauce, it holds it in the brush without dripping all over, and is perfect for basting.

This was more than I wanted to spend. But after reading reviews of several brushes, this seemed to be the best. Many other brushes were said to loose bristles, who wants that in their baking? I haven't had a brush in years, but my old one for rusty on the band by the bristles and it was loosing bristles. And it was very old. I only used this once, but I really like it. There is no metal to rust. The bristles are soft and didn't shed. I washed it before and after with good results both times. The handle is wood and nicely varnished. The size of the brush is perfect for scones, buns, breads, etc. The bristles are firmly seated in a plastic or rubber base. I love it. I will report if there are any changes with repeated use.

Just purchased this brush to use on vegetables. I understand it's difficult to get all the oil out so if anyone has the trick to that let me know. I will use soon on roasted vegetables and I expect it will be great. It's the perfect size to dip into olive oil and brush on a thin layer, I think easier to control than a spray which is why I'm trying the brush.Fast delivery too and well packaged. My husband and I bake a lot of Challahs and needed a brush to apply the egg wash before baking.What I was using was too hard. This bread/pastry brush is perfect to lightly brush my Challahs with egg washbefore baking. I highly recommend it.

I have a few silicone brushes, but they don't work as well as this one for baking products like pie crust and filo dough. With a little effort in cleaning, it comes out as good as new.

Best pastry brush ever!! It was awesome in my pastry class and brushi on egg yolk mixtures on pie doughs and perfect for basting meats. Well worth the money!!

I ordered this product as my biscottis recipe calls for spreading egg whites over the dough and this is the PERFECT tool for doing that! I highly recommend this product.
