Great light for the price!
This Fovitec LümNX 80W 5600K daylight-balanced photo/video light is really a great value for what you get. I don't have any of the really expensive lights like the Aputure or Amaran, so I can't really compare this to those lights (though you probably shouldn't since they're many, many times the price). I have a couple of inexpensive 18" LED light panels attached to the back of my desk, and they work pretty well but are on the smaller side and I really wanted to test out using a large light box to see if the lighting would be much improved.I attached a Neewer 36 inch softbox to this light, which might be a little large for it honestly. It's a bright light, but doesn't get super bright in the softbox even at 100% brightness. This 36" softbox is also HUGE so I might try this light with a 24" softbox which would probably better utilize it's output.Still, even with a huge softbox, I was able to get a really great image that was perfectly exposed. I think this light would be great if bought in a set of 2 for studio work (with an added hair light and some background lights). It's also great as a key light for video work as long as you're pretty close to the light. It's just not powerful enough to light a big space. For the price, this light is a great deal and with a softbox and an inexpensive light stand it's a great start to a really professional photo/video lighting setup.

A simple light gun but clever in its design. Works well with my existing umbrella diffusers.
First thoughts:ProsHuge light can with multiple accessory mount options.Bowens, speed ring and softbox style connections.Umbrella rod slot.Very smooth brightness control.Good length power cable.ConsNothing major to note.A very simple setup for a lighting unit, there’s very little to learn if you’re new to lighting equipment but it performs well with its single purpose (just the light rather than the larger dual softbox kit version). What makes it versatile is the connectors which make it easy to interact with Snoots, softboxes, umbrellas and other studio lighting diffusers. It’s a single colour temperature at 5600K but this is what I work with the most so if that’s not a problem then what you get is a lighting unit you can swap in and out of multiple types of diffuser fairly quickly.Details and things to note (See pictures):COB LED lighting unit with built-in and fairly quiet cooling fans.Fixed 5600K temperature but good stepless control over the brightness from 1-100%.3-Pin kettle socket power supply cable and it’s long enough to reach the floor from a normal height lighting stand. The light unit has a few mount options so it interacts well with accessories that work on Bowens mounts and speed rings like umbrellas, softboxes, snoots and shades. There’s also a rod holder in the light unit so I can feed in the rod from my umbrella diffuser as well as drawing in the material and connect it to the outer ring on the light.Final thoughts:A very focused bit of light kit for the photographer or Vlog studio setup. Not quite entry level as you'll need existing or additional kit with this single light option but as mentioned above, the versatility is in the form of what it can connect to rather than the functions it has (pretty much a single fixed function light source with dimmable brightness control). It performs this single task very well and it’s simple to set up and use.I’d definitely recommend this to photographers if you already have the lighting kit to hook this into. If you’re looking for a kit with lots of lighting effects and functions then this is probably a bit too focused for your needs but it fits in with my studio setup quite well as an extra fill light.

Possibly the best COB light you can get at this price point!
It's insane these COB lights have gotten so inexpensive. $119, at the time of this review, is an incredibly low price for an 80w LED light. The color accuracy seemed pretty accurate in my experience. I had my camera set to 5600 degrees kelvin and the white balance seemed very close. Again, this light is 80w so it is a crazy amount of power for a light priced this low. 20w more of power than the gold standard of budget LED COB lights, the Godox SL60w. Not only is it brighter but it's a bit cheaper as well!So how did they get the price this cheap? Well of course it's missing a few things but none of them are deal breakers. There is no remote control. No case. No reflector. Again, none of those are deal breakers for me. I rarely use reflectors and instead use softboxes I already have. That's another plus about these lights. They use the standard Bowens mount. The build quality is mostly plastic as you might expect for a light at this price point. However it does have metal parts where it counts such as the area where it mounts to the light stand. If you are on a tight budget I would highly recommend picking up a few of these vs budget LED light panels. Simply add a nice inexpensive Bowens softbox and you have a fantastic and CHEAP light setup for things like Youtube videos or even interview setups.

The light in your life?
The media could not be loaded. Summary:This is an 80w COB daylight balanced (~5600k) LED light in a compact form factor (albeit its a bit large in diameter). It has an articulating light stand mount that tightens and several accessory options. Its mostly a plastic build. Its a very basic light with no accessories.Worth buying?:It is an acceptable entry level studio light with good mounting options which is priced aggressively for low budget / entry level buyers. However, for a little more money, you can get a lot more from a light (not in terms of power, but other things), so it depends what you need from your light. What I like:- Its reasonably priced (£99 when writing)- Very easy to use / uncomplicated + clear screen- Mounting options for an umbrella, s-mount, and soft box style mount, so all sorts of accessories can be fitted.- Power dial feels well made / very tactile. What I dont like:- Fan noise (and limited venting holes which surely dont help)- Plastic build- Powered by AC power only - cannot use V-mount or NPF batteries via adaptors due to lack of DC support.- No accessories - no reflector, no remote, no carry bag (like some competing products in this price bracket.- Lack of features (like special effect modes)

Can't believe it's under $40 - really bright, does not run too hot.
There's a lot about this light I really like. The power supply is built-in - so no power/adapter brick to haul around or worry about. Even after having it on full power for over 10 hours, it never got uncomfortably warm. The fan was so quiet I did not realize that there was one. Sure - there's trade-offs. The case is plastic and it's BIG - 6" across and almost 6" deep, including the control dial. But they also really beefed up the mount and included a hole to slide in an umbrella. There's also a protective cover for the COB LED.All you get is the light with built-in mount. No reflector, stand, etc., but if you've been shooting as long as I have, you have a ton of extras. Since it uses a standard Bowens mount, it's easy - and pretty inexpensive - to find accessories. What's really surprising is that even without a reflector this light is BRIGHT. It fully illuminates a 12x12 foot room.
