Disappointed as I really wanted it to work.
Unfortunately whilst a great concept and an apparently well made item my mechanic and I were unable to bleed the air and repressure my fuel system. Replaced the original screw and it was simple to get going again. Being in Australia I've not the time and inclination to try a replacement so returned it; a pity as I really liked the concept and noted most people had a good result although some had similar problems.

Does Not Seal
Bought it in March in anticipation of my next filter change. Just changed filter and installed this. It DOES NOT seal, no matter how tight I try to get the thumbscrew. Sealed it up and pushed primer, and fuel continues to flow out. Disappointed. I’m outside of the return window now.UPDATE: Western Diesel replied to me immediately and sent me a new bleeder. They have also followed up to make sure I received the replacement and that it worked as advertised. I haven’t installed it yet; I was waiting for my next filter change, but I may go ahead and do it this weekend. I’m impressed with their customer service. I hope this replacement works better than the first one.One year later…It took awhile for me to install the replacement bleeder, but when I did I checked it first with a vacuum pump to make sure it sealed. It appeared to work as designed.Fast forward to this weekend. I was towing my camper for the first time since installing this bleeder. The truck has been driven many times without towing since installation, and I had no problems. Friday afternoon I was towing our 7k lb trailer on the interstate when my Duramax went into reduced power and threw a code for low fuel rail pressure. While looking under the hood for any obvious problems, I discovered diesel fuel in the bleeder tube. There was no fuel in there when I installed the bleeder some time back. I made sure the bleeder was closed and tight, and cleared the code. A few minutes further down the road the truck went reduced power again, same code. I went into a truck stop parking lot and swapped the bleeder out for the factory bleed screw that just happened to be in the glovebox. The problem went away after installing the factory screw.I suspect the bleeder was leaking, and allowed air into the fuel system and forced the low pressure condition.I’m going to throw this bleeder away now.

Great product!
Item arrived on time and in great condition. I added a 90 degree elbow to direct the fuel down the side of the filter and cut the tubing after placing the Gatorade bottle that I use for draining under it. Tubing goes about 2" inside the bottle. I have a lift pump installed so I just crack the bleeder screw open and turn on the key to prime the filter. When I see fuel enter the bottle I shut the key off, close the bleeder, pull the tubing from the bleeder, flush some brake cleaner through the tubing and remove the bottle. Clean and done. No pumping and no mess.

One or relocated filter applications
Not really worth it for my application because it is not the highest filter in my engine bay. Should have looked at that first. Works as intended but then have to prime and make a mess on the other side

GM should have put these in to begin with!
No issues. Worked like it is described. The only thing I wish is that the hose was about 2” longer. Other than that minor detail, I highly suggest anyone who owns a D-Max and does their own maintenance buy this now.
