Green Roof Plants: A Resource and Planting Guide

Good plant guide, but the first 1/2 of the book is best obtained from the internet
The first three chapter regarding green roofing are sparse. I found much more detailed information from simple internet searches. The final chapter, Plant Guide, is much more detailed and comprehensive. One last note, it would be nice to produce this guide as an e-book and not waste trees on green topics.

Excellent resource for planning and building a sustainable green roof
Excellent resource for planning and building a sustainable green roof. Lots of great photos to help understand the design process more fully along with ensuring the right plants are installed to minimize maintenance and maximize water remediation/reclamation.

Just what I was looking for -- Part 2!
This is the perfect companion to Planting Green Roofs and Living Walls -- it specializes in what sort of plants to use given specific conditions and it gives details on how to plant and take care of them -- a super addition to anyones Green library!

Great book for green roof plants!
While I knew from the title of the book that this is a source of information for green roof plants, I still expected to find information on installation techniques, either very specifically or at least with a list of companies or other sources cited where I could find installation techniques. Only a couple of companies are cited, but with no Sources section in the back of the book -- only nurseries. Many subjects directly connected to planting and building a green roof are only generally touched on with broad explanations. The plant selection pages are great, with lots of color photos and good description.

A lot of unexpected choices
The title contained very useful information. I had no ideaof the variety of plants suitable for green roof applications. There was enough information to enable an individual tobegin populating their own green roof garden. Illustrationand photo quality was dated.

Decent Resource for Planting a Vegetated Roof
Once you commit to the vegetated roof concept, you are very soon confronted with what will work up there. This book is a great point of departure!

Good but maybe a little biassed
The guide is thorough, comprehensive and sound. It refers mainly to the climate of the US, though. Moreover, the author, beside being an expert in green roofs, is also personally involved in their creation and seems (but my impression may be wrong) to be a bit biassed in favour of species he has grown and used in his professional career. On the whole, however, the guide is reliable and complete. It includes a bibliography and a list of the major species that can be used on a green roof (together with pictures and details such as rusticity, height, width, typical landscape role, special features).
