Great starting game for the learning how to use Pokemon cards. I used to have them when I was a kid, but never knew how to use them. I bought this on a friends recommendation.For me this ticks a lot of boxes.I should clarify this. I come from a board gaming background in general (I own between 60-70 board games, which get changed from time to time). It was the game point that interested me most.The game is a deck building game, but with a few difference. You build your deck before playing, and pit your deck against an opponents to see who's is better.That sounds basic, but there is a lot of strategy in how and when to use your cards, so every game is different.Now, having said about building a deck, I should disclaim here: This box has 3 decks ready built for you. This is really a game to learn the ropes, as well as giving you some starting decks to work with. As far as value goes, it is extremely good value! To build a deck nowadays can cost a lot, depending on the strength of the deck. To get 3 decks here for effectively £5 each is unbelievably good value (The 3 GX cards alone would be worth £2-3 each).I started with this, and have since bought other cards, which have adapted and grown the strength of the decks I have.All in all, its a good game. It is really a starter for getting into the Pokemon TCG, and to be honest, I couldn't really recommend a better place to start. Great product, great value!

This game contains an excellent system for learning the game. The box consists of three decks of cards; two beginner and one more advanced; and three rulebooks to go along with the decks. Each card in the deck is labelled 01 to 60. You place the deck on the board in the indicated order and then play a game with each beginner player referring to that deck's rulebook. This will take two players through the first turns of a game and teach you everything you need to know to get through to the end of the deck by yourself. Then you can shuffle up these beginner decks and play without guidance. Once you have played a few games with the starter decks you can move on to the more advanced deck and its rulebook which will flesh out all the more advanced rules. By that time you will know how to play Pokemon and have had a good time doing so. It's an above average game - a bit luck driven - but there are strategies to learn and tactical decisions to make and poor choices have consequences. The health counters are a bit flimsy considering the amount of handling they will get, but all other components are of a very high quality.

Let's start with how durable and sturdy this is, now I don't have any video evidence, but I can talk with you about it. It's quite sturdy like the normal Pokemon cards, I can confirm nobody has touched or opened the item, (except that they put in the amazon box of course). It's really durable just like the other Pokemon cards so they are both in my opinion a 5 star on sturdiness and durability. Now let's talk about value of money, as of now it has a 10% off and is way cheaper than where I live in my country probably around £40 cheaper, so I'd say 5 star on the value of money. Inside the box is 8 packs (that are sealed and each pack contains 10 cards), 7 damage-counter dice, 65 sleeves featuring Mew on the back of each sleeve, a rulebook, a player's guide, 45 energy cards, 2 acrylic condition markers (basically the shape of a coin however it shows that if the active Pokemon is poisoned or wounded), a code card to use for the online game (the online game is for free so don't worry about spending more money) and finally the box that has 4dividers to keep everything organised. Finally, let's talk about the reviews, a lot and I mean a lot of people have been saying that the packs have been tampered with or resealed or its in bad condition they even recorded videos of it. However, the videos I saw were all of the packs opened, now my idea is crazy but hear me out. My idea is that they record videos and put uno cards or other stupid cards in and write "tampered and opened packs, contains no Pokemon cards at all. DO NOT BUY" However every single screenshot or video I have seen all the packs have been opened they are doing this to mess with kids or buy more packs before they run out. Because Amazon is selling a random old guy who goes around scamming people you can see that under add to basket button. Anyways, All I'm saying is their really sturdy, full durability just like normal Pokemon cards, a really good value for money as of there is a 10% discount, all packs are sealed non touched or opened by anyone except amazon when putting the actual item in their own box and no tampering with the whole box or packs. I have one more thing just before you buy it, if I was you or your kid, brother, sister or anybody that your buying it for them or yourself then first try the online game its for free, available on mac, windows not sure about linux but its available so I recommend to try it out. Anyways, thats all I have to say, thank you for your patience and time, also sorry for the long review I just wanted to include everything.

To be honest, it loses only one star because it is expensive for what it is. However it is great for starting out. The game is going to be over pretty quickly once Charizard EX, Mewtwo EX or Raichu EX are in play so I suggest removing these if you want a longer and more fun game.I ordered some other Trainer, Supporter and Pokemon species as additional cards just to vary up the decks as it gets samey. Doing this, you can rotate which Pokemon you include and keep decks at x60.I removed some Kangaskhan and Snorlax for example as you get a few of them, and for my preference added a Jolteon and a Blissey - the latter as you have Eevee/Espeon/!Flareon in the other decks, as well as Chansey.There are some very fun Trainer cards out there. This box only includes "pick up cards" and "potion" kind or ones. That is fine, but include for my own preference added an Eviolite (really helps out those Basic Pokemon) and Super Energy Removal (if you want a card to really hold back EX as trust me, they're otherwise going to sweep your entire team).

Item arrived on time 100% happy no boosters to be dipped and set cards in box so little to no chance of cards being tampered with, would recommend.

My son love this ans says its a brilliant set.

Usually ordering on Amazon I avoid any TCG but this came untouched and was not tampered like a lot of Pokémon cards sold on Amazon. Great product

lots of pulls!!! Out of 7 packs, pulled 5 or 6 Shiny pokemon, a full art trainer and then plus the promos!
