Great Upgrade
I'm not a computer guy, just a parts changer (just like my automotive repair skills). This was delivered sooner than expected, and I think I spent all of 15 minutes to install. My concern was being able to use a Google Chromecast, because that is the most CPU intensive thing I do (not a gamer). Watched an on-line BBall game last night for over two hours, casting to my TV, and the resolution was HD, no buffering/jitters. I had read some reviews about high temps, so I also purchased and installed a blade fan, $6 on Amazon. My scientific checks (hand behind the fan exhaust) did not indicate to me abnormally high temps. I have not upgraded from the 4MB of RAM, doesn't seem to me I need to for what I am doing. Using my Norton Security program, the CPU/Memory usage monitor never went about 50%. For me, this $141 upgrade, including the fan, seems to be a good deal, especially considering that an upgrade to a computer that had the processor speed, RAM, and a 1 TB hard drive that I would want was pushing into the $500 to $600 range, minimum. Still need to see how things run long term, but overall, I'm very happy with this!

Looking to speed up your computer, upgrade your RAM first
I bought this to upgrade an older AMD dual core processor (on my CQ5210F) . The install process was fairly easy and strait forward. I did it myself in under an hour. My computer is somewhat faster, but nothing like when I upgraded my RAM from 3 GBs to 4. I'm hoping this gives me another year with my desktop.

Great Product, huge improvement over old cpu, just make sure it's compatible with your system!
I ordered this product, but turns out it wasn't compatible with my system. Tere are two different AMD Phenom II X4 945 Deneb cpu's, this one, the HDX945WFGMBOX is a later revision of the 945 which uses C3 stepping, there is also the HDX945WFGIBOX which uses C2 stepping. It may or may not affect compatibility for your system, but I the HDX945WFGMBOX did not work for my Dell Inspiron 570, I had to return it to the vendor and they sent me a HDX945WFGIBOX that worked perfectly...and yes, the vendor did operational check the one I sent back, it was not defective! I knew before ordering that there were two types of this processor ("I" and "M") but I didn't know that my computer would only recognize the "I". I just wish I had the information in this review prior to ordering or I would've oredered the HDX945WFGIBOX right off the bat. Please just research your specifict system to determine compatibility, as I said earlier the issue I had may be isolated to Inspiron 570. I just wanted to get this word out for other Dell Inspiron 570 owners to save them some aggravation. The cpu itself was easy to install, the computer recognized the new cpu immediately on start up and I noticed a HUGE increase in speed and performance. Highly recommended cpu for an upgrade.

I like it!
I purchased this item because it was the best upgrade for my computer, and the highest level processor for my motherboard. I originally had a AMD Athlon II X2 240 Dual Core processor, and after purchasing this one, I accidentally bent most of the pins. In addition, I spent two weeks straighten them out, and finally got the processor to fit into the ZIF socket. Afterwards, it has yet to impress me in the performance department...my Windows Index barely changed. Maybe for a gamer, it works better!

Used AMD CPU
I bought the AMD Phenom II X4 945 as an upgrade for an older MB. Item was packaged properly by the vendor. The CPU functioned as expected. It was well worth the money. A small package of heat sink compound was included. I did not use it and opted to use Arctic Silver as I have had good luck with their products in the past.
