Works great!
This works great, regardless of price. All actions are smooth. Unlike other reviews everything stays straight when loosened enough to swing and swivel. I have a Canon 1D IV with Tamron 200-500 mounted on it and it’s solid when locked and accurate when moving. It’s heavy, which is why it’s cheaper than others that are carbon fiber, but it works great.

I hoped for better. Disappointed.
I am disappointed in the sturdiness of this. The moving parts are very wobbly. Unless all the knobs are tightened down its unstable. The swinging part moves in more of a figure 8 instead of a swinging motion. That kinda defeats the purpose. The compass doesn’t even work on it (that doesn’t matter in the big picture). Also there is a grinding metal on metal feeling to the moving parts. Not sure how long I am going to trust it, thinking that at some point it’s going to fall apart, dropping my camera.

Great product for the right job and the money
Definitely worth the money and it's sturdier than I thought it would be. Enough adjustable parts to make it work at least for what I do which is YouTube videos. I do recommend that you either get a heavy duty tripod or be very aware of how top heavy your lighter tripod becomes. Overall very happy with it especially for such a low price.

A horrable gimbal head...but fixable
First off this thing is wobbly and anything but smooth. If you are not handy do not buy this one. I disassembled mine and was able to get it stable and smooth. This is what I did.I disassembled mine and was able to get it stable and smooth and this undoubtedly voided any warranty. The compass is something you would get out of a gum ball machine. I removed it along with the cap it sat in. This gave me access to the bolt. I disassembled and found that some of the machining was not deburred and bits of metal were in the joint. I deburred the machining and cleaned up any loose metal. Test fitting the parts relieved a lot of slop to the fit, well over 0.030". I was on a dead line and could not make a spacer so used brass shim stock to tighten the fit. The lubrication was very tacky so I cleaned all parts and used a Teflon based lubricant. The bolt was a tapered head and was very hard to get the pressure correct. Replaced bolt with a button head and made a brass washer to allow movement though time. The tilt joint was also disassembled as it was very wobbly when loosened to move and would loose position in the process of locking it down. Again I shimmed the parts to tighten the fit and lubricated. This was harder to shim as part of the lock down mechanism is also part of the stability for this joint. The lock down screw for the mounting plate had a bubble level in it...even though it would serve no practical use. I removed it and found it was based on a metric thread M6-1. I removed it and modified a seat post adjuster from a bicycle so I now have a cam lock. To cover where the compass had been, I used a bubble level (in a position that is actually useful) that I attached with double sided tape. This is just till I can machine proper spacers out of UHMW plastic at which time I will attach the bubble level better..For the price it is what it is, you get what you pay for. If you are capable of fixing its short comings it might be a bargain compared to high end gimbals.

Dont expect too much
For its price, it does a decent enough job. It will take some disassembly to fine tune it.

Sturdy Value for the Money..very impressed
Bought this to use for wildlife photography as my setup is well over 7 pounds. My last tripod couldn't lock my big Sigma 150-600mm contemporary lens and camera in place. As soon as I let go it would tip towards the ground even on the tightest setting. This Gimbal head however, not only holds the weight of my big lens, camera and battery grip with 2 batteries, but it locks it in solid and I can move it fluidly. It even came with a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter so I could mount it to my heavy duty tripod regardless of thread type.I'm very happy with it and in fact I'll be going out this morning to use it.

Wrong for Panoramic photography (UPDATED)
Completely broken and useless for panoramic photography. The Professional Heavy Duty Metal 360 Degree Panoramic Gimbal Tripod Head with Arca-Swiss... mount doesn't have the camera mount centered directly over the axis - (like it tries to suggest in photos). Instead, this one sticks way out past the axis as if it were made for a different gimbal. Structurally, it's well made, but this design flaw BREAKS PANORAMIC SHOOTING for any and all cameras! Because I took it on a trip I have passed my return window :( Waste of money.

Works great for me.
Makes macro photography and tracking wild life much easier than a ball head. I wasn’t sure how much I would use this but after seeing a friend use the one that cost him $90 I figured the reviews on this on were as good or better than the $90 one. I guess a $500 one would be better but not for my occasional use. I attached the gimbal mount onto my ball head and tightens the ball head firmly. I have been using just the gimbal so I may just remove the ball head and attach the gimbal directly to the tripod.
