what type of plastic is it made out of?

It's a clear plastic. Heavy. Fits very nice. I did let it gas off before use. It had/has no odor after gassing off for 3 days.

I am not sure. I bought it for my daughter for Christmas 🎄 last year. It is very durable. Her husband had it together in no time. She is a pastry chef and uses it all the time.
