I enjoy reading medical texts, (MS in cancer and developmental biology and DPT student) and don't write reviews unless something is surprisingly good or surprisingly bad. Sadly, this text is the latter.Cons: When I say "redundant" I mean repetitive and lengthy beyond belief. Text is full of migraine inducing explanations of trivial semantic matters (ex. the difference between "Systems Review" and "Review of Systems", which is referenced in almost every chapter"). Authors fail terribly at concise or clear explanations, reading is painful and assignments are utterly arbitrary with no resolution. Online text assignments do not lineup with hard copy of newest edition (5th ed. 8/2020) I can't imagine teaching from this; a nightmare of subjectivity for students.Pros: References at end of chapter are nice and pages have nice perforations for tearing out.Conclusion: At $35, you get what you pay for. In that regard, some buyers might be pleased because it's probably the cheapest text you'll use in your entire education, but it's also the lowest quality. Text usefulness is limited to exposure for those completely unfamiliar with SOAP notes or basic documentation. An absolute failed attempt at a quality teaching tool. It is sad and frustrating to see students being charged so much for education and being fed such low quality content. There is a reason the "5 star reviews" don't elaborate.

Though I got the book on time, I just went do to some of the assignments in the book and the pages were ripped out of the book. So I looked through more of the book and it seems there are even more pages ripped out which include the assignments I am supposed to do for class. Very disappointed now I'm going to have to go buy another book just to see what I'm suppose to do.

This product is specifically for physical therapists. Really should be indicated in the title somewhere. Is absolutely useless to a mental health professional
