Excellent, well designed, product
Below is my original post for which I gave it a 3-star rating. Here is an update. As it turns out the issue was NOT a hub issue. Satechi very quickly provided a replacement unit. When testing the unit I discovered that when switching sound systems in the Mac sound panel, it automatically muted a channel which had gone unnoticed. With that learning in hand it was determined that there was no issue with the original product; it was my error missing the auto-mute. This product is well designed, compact, sleek, well constructed, and works extremely well. I can recommend it highly.Purchased produce 21OCT22. Audio jack does not function. Sound works fine when connected to computer directly or when using an alternate hub. The product design is excellent and, so far, the other ports continue to function. The fact that I can't find a way to contact Satechi to resolve this problem is an issue.

Clean design and works reasonably well. Wish it had a couple more ports.
This was purchased along with a 2021 Macbook Pro M1 Pro to run deal monitors. It does this using the laptop's HDMI input for a 32" mirrored monitor and a USB C to HDMI cable coming from the dock to a 20" "portrait" monitor extending the desktop. The extended monitor occasionally blinks (goes dark for a fraction of a second) but it's rare. Otherwise everything is as it should be - able to support native HDMI or scaled HDMI resolutions. The audio output is a glitchy and the dock covers it up - so it's not a good choice to listen to music with extended speakers. Also attached to the dock are a USB ergo keyboard, wired Ethernet (a bit faster than our wireless), a scanner, and a backup disk. Power is through Apple's MagSafe connector. The two MacBook connectors not covered by the dock (HDMI for one of the monitors and T-bolt 4 or an SSD) are filled. So it's a bit clumsy to remove the laptop and a bit untidy as a desktop solution. It also needs more ports should one want a hard wired mouse, an external camera, rotating Time Machine backups, a hard-wired printer, a USB stick, etc. in play.Bottom line - it works and could be a good choice for a minimalist setup while traveling or at some dedicated task. It looks like it belongs grafted to the left side. I intended to use it for focus stacking with a microscope camera, with the MacBook away from my desk. Having had failures with a more expensive dock with a full complement of ports - it is now temporarily my too-few-ports desktop solution.

Works great, looks great, great form factor
This just works and is perfect for my setup. It does not have video, which is fine with me, as I'm just using one external monitor off of the MacBook 14" HDMI port.

Very Useful and easy to carry around
Hella useful purchase for me, especially when I have a wireless mouse with usb dongle. Something to note is it will drain charge I think if left connected since it has an LED and some chips. But not noticable when Im using it just unplug if you wanna put in your bag or go travel with macbook for a while

Very good "side-dock"
This should be a 4.5 star review, just because it's not perfectly flush with the 16" Macbook Pro (16"). Otherwise it's a very good dock, i upgraded this from a previous Satechi dock for the older generation MBP. It has literally everything you need to complement the Macbook Pro's existing ports.

It works but sometimes loses connection.
I've had this for almost a year now. I leave my laptop closed and connected to this hub and an external display. sometimes when my computer goes to sleep, it won't recognize the hub when it wakes back up. When this happens, I have to restart my computer.

Perfect traveling hub for my 16in MacBook Pro.
This is exactly what I needed for my Macbook Pro. Feels sturdy, matches the color and look nicely, and works perfect for office work or work on the road.

Solid hub but didn't last
Was a good product, but two ports completely stopped working after 1 year of use. You could say it was "gently used" as I used it just about every day, but it remained on my desk at all times and wasn't tossed into bags or dropped.

Basically Losing a USB C Port (Pro Hub Mini Adapter)
Good looking and good price, but unfortunately, using this means losing one real USB C port with power delivery. Plugged in to my M2 13" Macbook Pro I can charge the Mac only with the first USB C port, but can't power an external screen with the second one, meaning that for this model, this adapter is almost useless (you get extra USB B ports, but lose one real USB C with power port)

Voldoet aan de verwachtingen.
Het product wordt gebruikt als een extensie voor een MacbookPro M2 van 2022.

Un MUST !
