Love it!
I was used to working on an Allegro2 at the pilates studio, but with shut downs interrupting my practice, I decided to purchase a reformer of my own. The Allegro2 was too big for my space (and a bit too expensive) so I started to look at other models. I was hesitant to order the Allegro because it doesn't seem to get as much love as other BB reformers and I just REALLY liked the Allegro2 and was worried a different model wouldn't measure up. However, after speaking to my Pilates instructor who informed me that the Allegro was her first reformer, I decided to make the purchase with the 14" legs and I cannot be more pleased!I don't know why this machine doesn't get much attention! The quality is exactly what you'd expect from a BB reformer-- best in class. It's a step up from their home reformer, the IQ, but not as expensive as the Allegro2 or Studio reformers (but make no mistake, this is definitely a professional piece of equipment). It was exactly what I was looking for and while I miss the ability to move the foot bar along the carriage like you can with an Allegro2, at least it doesn't get jammed when I'm trying to move it between positions. I am so happy I bought this reformer and have zero regrets!

Carriage is a very hard and actually hurts your tailbone area when you lay on it.
Quality reformer. I purchased the extra height legs and they work fine but installation takes awhile and is not a lot of fun to do. I did not have anyone to help me which added to the time. The carriage is very hard and actually uncomfortable. Balance Body did not have a softer carriage that could exchanged this one for. It actually hurts your tailbone area. I have to use a piece of foam covered in a pillow case to be comfortable. I just think for the amount of money this costs it should have a much better padded carriage.

Easy to set up.
Comes mostly assembled, and I (68, female) was able to do what little setup there was myself. I only called in reinforcements (a.k.a. husband) for one bolt. Have been using reformers for over ten years, and just love this machine. Highly recommend.

Balanced Body makes the best Reformers on the market
In my opinion, Balanced Body makes the best Reformers on the market. I use their clinical and studio reformers at work and purchased this Allegro for my home. I love it and love the way it makes my body feel. Excellent quality.

Upgradable, stacks, stands, great footbar, you can count on Balance Body’s Allegro
Edited review: I have had my Allegro for over a year now. I did purchase the legs which I have used in a studio because I prefer the added height. It is nice to not be so near the floor for some exercises. I actually bought it instead of the IQ because of the option for height and the Tower which I also bought and it really ups your game! If you must have a Studio Reformer because of the aesthetics, tower and optional heights, it is very versatile but remember some Pilates enthusiasts recommend metal over wood due to wood’s response to humidity and temperature. The Allegro 1 really is the Little Engine that Could. It meets all your Pilates needs despite not having the most cushy, padded carriage. (I do use an extra Pilates pillow beneath my tailbone.) It accommodates a variety of body lengths and types. I love Balanced Body’s customer service, knowledge, eco-friendly products, made in America, and availability for - everything and while they are not cheap, they have options for everyone. Do your research, You cannot go wrong with Balanced Body. The Allegro is upgradable to a tower, legs, with a box and can stand or be stacked. It’s convenient if you don’t need it under your bed or in your closet. If you prefer Classical, go for their Contrology reformer which is universally respected even by Gratz enthusiasts. If you can afford the top of the Contemporary wood line, of course, go for a Studio or Clinical Reformer with infinity bar and Revo springbar - for infinite options.
