What’s love got to do with it?
Lucy Score hits a home run in “Things we never got over”. This is a romance rolled in with family dynamics from several different families and stages. Ms. Score weaves a tale of how childhood friend’s in a small town evolve through the years. How momentous experiences change both the people, their perceptions and interactions. Ms. Score takes the ideology of a child’s expectations of what they believe their parents want and how it molds and shapes a person. That belief may not even be accurate but is the child’s truth regardless. Throughout the story is one central theme…love. True love..from a parent to a child…from a child to a parent. Love grown and love lost. Love between siblings, love between husband and wife, love between lovers, love between genders, love between friends, forbidden love but love is the consistent thread. There are extremely steamy moments. This is not a read that shys away from the physical desires of both sexes, so be prepared. Also, please note there is a tug of war with emotions between Naomi(aka Daisy/Daze) and Knox as they learn about themselves and each other. There’s also a story running behind the scenes and sometimes congruent with the scenes. There is the relationship between Knox and his brother, Nash. Sometimes, Lucien, a childhood friend enters the dynamic trio. There’s the story of Knox and Nash’s childhood with their parents and grandparents. Liza, the grandmother, most present in the current story. There’s the history of Naomi and her sister, Tina. Tine has melded her daughter, Waylay into their relationship without warning to Naomi. There’s also Naomi and Tina’s parents whom had no knowledge of their granddaughter until everything went down. There’s Waylay, a child raised in a struggle and tough world whom is wise but holds on to her innocence and surprisingly positive outlook with hope in her heart. There’s also subtle side stories of Naomi’s childhood friend, Stef. Stef is a character everyone has in their life and loves. When he comes into town there is a little spark between he and Jeremiah. This gives the reader a little nugget of hope for a spinoff story. To sum it all up, there’s the relationship Knox and Nash have with the town of Knockemout. There are a myriad of town folks that add all kinds of magic to the possibilities of spin-off stories that either Lucy Score writes or you, as the reader writes in your own mind. This was a fun, light hearted read that was uplifting and kept your heart hoping for more. I definitely recommend and hope you lose yourself in the characters. There’s a lot to chose from.

perfect mix of humor, romance, and small town drama
I loved this book. Like, stayed. up. way. too. late. kind of loved it. This is the perfect mix of humor, romance, and small town drama that keeps you totally hooked. Naomi is such a lovable hot mess. She rolls into Knockemout thinking she’s helping her twin, and instead ends up broke, stranded, and suddenly a surprise mom to a sassy preteen. The chaos is real, but she handles it like a champ, for the most part. Know is a grump, but the kind of guy you can’t help falling for. He tries so hard to stay out of Naomi’s mess but ends up falling right into it...and her. Their chemistry is great, the banter is funny, and the emotional moments hit hard .. Plus, the town is full of quirky characters who make you want to move there and grab a beer with them… even if they settle arguments with their fists. This book has heart, heat, and a whole lot of personality. Definitely one of my favorite small town romances.

A MUST READ, 5 STAR BOOK!
It's funny how at the start of writing this I'm asked "what did you like ..." because let me tell you, there's NOTHING that I didn't love in this book! I went in "blind" after it was recommended to me by a friend because she said "you will love Knox" and boy does she know me well because I fell head over heels with the growly but sweet(?) hero, Knox Morgan *happy sigh* I admit to being a bit skeptical at first about starting this book because of my limited time and it is over 500pgs 😲 but once I started, the pages just flew by. Not a page is unnecessarily written and the writing is so well done, the story just flows perfectly with zero boring or slow parts. It has a heroine who is feisty, a hero who is stubborn, a runaway bride, a couple of awesome JP moments that had me grinning (big JP fan here), scenes that had my laughing, great secondary characters who I hope to read more about soon, action, spice 🥵, ... I could continue rambling on forever about all the deliciousness crammed into Things We Never Got Over! If you haven't heard of this book, what planet are you on?!! A must read for fans of enemies to lovers and JP heroes who want something that will stay with you long after you finished the book. Sooo good I ended up getting both the eBook and audiobook (and the narrators only enhanced the book even more, which I wouldn't have thought possible but both Lila Winters and Sebastian York are exceptional as Knox and Naomi and deserve 5 stars themselves for the narration). Dual POV No cheating No OW drama (kinda but not 😜) Standalone with HEA

When this book was published it was hyped in a way it made me skip it. A few days ago I came across this book again and picked it up. Oh am I glad that I did. What a great story and what a enjoyable style it is written in. I got hooked from page 1 and couldn't put it down until I finished Naomi and Knox story. It made me laugh, cry, fall apart en put me back together. I loved the fact that it isn't just a romcom, it is much more.

Enjoyed it, but it will take some time to pick up another books from the series. MMC dilemmas were not enough for his behaviour to be justified
