See through and hard to flatten
I got this to photo jewelry on but am really not liking it AT ALL. I have had this for two months and its STILL curling like crazy. I've rolled it the other way, I've laid books on it. I've even tried running the blow dryer on it to get it to warm up and lay flat but nothing works. Currently I have to clip/white duct tape it down onto a frame and the table to photo on and its still arched. Also, its not white, its translucent which is not good for me. My tables are dark brown and shows through this. Need to find something that is OPAQUE and lays flat but thicker than paper.

I don't know....
Maybe I just didn't know how to handle this product. It came in a roll. Absolute nightmare to uncurl it. It's still curly even now. I weighted it under books for three days. Put it in my closet for a while because I was frustrated. Randomly thought of using a hair dryer, so I tried that and put it back under the books after it softened a little. That got it usable, as long as I remember to use a weight on the front of it. In the process I managed to scratch up the glossy side even through the film protecting it, once again probably my fault but still very frustrated since I bought it for a high gloss background for my jewelry photography. The material itself looks very nice though. It's thick but not too thick, and the matte side has an interesting texture that doesn't detract from your photography subject, so I think as long as you know how to work with it, it'll last a long time and give some great results.

This item is not matte
The matte side isn't truly matte, but most troubling, the reflective side shipped with only a partial protective film, and the matte side was egregiously scratched owing to poor packing. Image shows scratches that were on the backdrop upon arrival, with long grooves that appear to be from rolling or cutting?

Hard to get it to lay flat even after reverse rolling
Very hard to get it to lay flat. Reverse rolling worked somewhat but left slight crease lines in the plastic.

Not opaque.
The mat was translucent, so you could see my countertop through it.
